Yvonne alighted from the car when they arrived and was marveled by the magnificent Yancey family home.
"This place is so luxuriously built. I think I'm too ignorant, I have never seen anything like this," Yvonne exclaimed. Her family was in the same social circle, and yet they were nothing when compared to the Yanceys. This made her a little worried, and she promptly asked Shawn what was on her mind, "Genius, will your family look down on my background?"
Yvonne wasn't belittling herself. It was a common practice among the elites to marry those who could match their family status in terms of wealth and power. The Carter family was far from being a match to the Yancey family.
Shawn could not understand her concern. He replied, "Isn't your family background good enough? My mom will only welcome you with open arms and treat you like a princess. She won't object to anything about you."
