She went back to the small house she rented. As soon as she opened the door, Nino ran out.
Janice realized that Nino would be very lonely because she didn't come back last night.
Thinking of this, she held Nino in her arms. Her face was pressed against the soft fluff, which let her remember the warmth from Christopher's arms.
"Nino, tell me, should I be soft-hearted and change my silly principles?"
She sighed to herself when the phone suddenly rang. She then put Nino back, got up, and went to pick up the phone.
"Janice."
A familiar voice came through.
Janice paused for a moment. Just now she picked up the call without seeing caller ID.
If she had known that it was from Benjamin, she would not have answered it.
"What's the matter?"
"I heard that you asked for leave. Is everything okay?"
Benjamin asked.
Janice frowned. "I'm fine."
