~Bella's POV
Alex and I stayed wrapped in each other's arms for a while, warm under the covers, the early morning light soft through the curtains. Everything felt calm—still, like the world outside didn't exist yet. I could've stayed like that all day.
But then… grrrrrrrllllll.
My stomach growled, loudly.
Alex froze, then pulled back slowly, a grin spreading across his face. "Was that… you?"
I groaned and buried my face in the pillow. "Oh my God. Ignore that. Pretend it didn't happen."
"No way," he laughed, the sound deep and rich. "That sounded like a small bear. I'm honestly a little afraid."
I smacked his shoulder lightly. "Shut up."
He chuckled and sat up, pulling the blanket around his waist. "Noo, I think it's cute. I mean, I did say I was having you for breakfast, but it turns out your stomach beat me to it."
I rolled my eyes, trying not to laugh. "You're terrible."
