Chapter 70 - Chapter 69: Muzan's Tragic Death

If we're talking about a single, overwhelming attack—Daemon's ultimate combination of Hercules' Belt, God Avoid, and the Mystic Eyes of Death Perception was, without a doubt, his most terrifying strike.

"…It's time to end this."

Daemon grasped the hilt of God Avoid and slowly raised it.

"God Avoid."

The words of the Noble Phantasm's release echoed like a divine judgment, and with it, the air warped around Daemon.

Even before the technique fully activated, the sheer pressure caused Jibril's confident smirk to vanish. Her eyes widened in disbelief.

"Th-thorn—"

A single slash that ignored all forms of defense and reason, infused with the death-inducing power of his Mystic Eyes—no one in this world could possibly take it head-on.

Far away, within the Infinite Fortress, all twelve of Muzan's demon moons dropped to their knees.

A silent, primal fear surged through them—brought directly through their mental link to Muzan.

And Muzan? He had already split his body into countless fragments, fleeing in every direction in utter desperation.

While running, he frantically spammed the chat group, groveling for mercy.

From the moment Daemon and his companions descended into this world, Muzan had felt an overwhelming dread. He knew—deep down—he could never defeat them.

His plan had always been to stall. Survive for a day. That was the time limit for the visitors' stay.

With the illusory abilities of his Zanpakuto and his countless escape plans, Muzan believed he could buy just enough time to avoid death.

But what was this? That slash… was it even something a living being could produce?

"I'm going to die… No… I don't want to die!"

His mental state unraveled, his thoughts spiraling into despair.

And yet, a part of him resented it all.

Why should you, Daemon, look down on me from above? You've done worse than I ever have...

This cursed chat group… You give me a system cheat, but not the strength to survive?!

What good is illusion against something like that?!

Of course, Daemon didn't bother replying to Muzan's desperate pleas. He wasn't even looking at the chat.

Right now, all of his focus was on the sword in his hand—and what he was about to unleash.

"—HUM—"

The world trembled.

This was not an attack that could be dodged. Not blocked. Not countered.

It was inevitable.

A divine judgment wrapped in the silence of death.

Muzan didn't even know how he died.

By the time the slash reached him, it was already over.

Meanwhile, in the Chat Group…

Erina Nakiri: "Muzan just disappeared from the chat. That must mean… he's completely dead."

Esdeath: "So that's the power of God Avoid paired with the Mystic Eyes of Death… Terrifying."

Luo Hao: "Even the gods of my world would fall before that."

Erina Nakiri: "Just one slash… and it's over."

Sakura Tosaka: "Brother Daemon is so amazing!"

Kasumigaoka Utaha: "For a second, I thought I was dead. That aura… it felt like death itself."

Jibril: "Tch… fine. I'll admit it. That was impressive."

Daemon: "My bad. I honestly tried to hold back the full power of the Noble Phantasm…"

Kasumigaoka Utaha: "Then you can apologize by letting me bully you once—when I go dragon form. Deal?"

Miyuki Uchiha: "That… wasn't even comparable to Gilgamesh's Sword of Rupture!"

Daemon: "That was only five percent."

Miyuki Uchiha: "…Aahh."

Esdeath: "Sword of Rupture? Someone fill me in."

Luo Hao: "Mei, you should know."

Yamamoto Mei: "It's one of the top treasures in the Type-Moon world. Gilgamesh's most powerful weapon—it can literally tear open reality."

Yamamoto Mei: "It's what he used to knock down the Mother Goddess of Creation. So even five percent from Daemon is enough to kill Muzan instantly."

Esdeath: "Mother Goddess of Creation? Sounds strong."

Luo Hao: "I wonder what power I'd gain if I managed to slay a goddess like that…"

Miyuki Uchiha: "I take it back. That Phantasm is leagues above the Mystic Eyes."

Yamamoto Mei: "Hard to compare. His divine sword enhances the Mystic Eyes too. The synergy multiplies his strength."

Jibril: "Hmm. From what I saw, the Mystic Eyes are precise… while the god Avoid is pure devastation."

Jibril: "But now I'm curious. What would happen if Daemon unleashed all of his Noble Phantasms at full power?"

Yamamoto Mei: "Then? The continents would shatter. Humanity would go extinct. And after countless years, a new civilization would rise—just like humans replaced dinosaurs."

Kasumigaoka Utaha: "W-wait… Human extinction?! That's terrifying!"

Miyuki Uchiha: "That's… insanely powerful."

Sakura Tosaka: "Why does Sister Miyuki sound broken?"

Miyuki Uchiha: "Haha! That was just my 'I'm gasping' voice!"

Saitama: "Hmm. Maybe Daemon really is strong enough to fight me."

Luo Hao: "Saitama, huh? Now that's a battle I want to see."

Esdeath: "Forget that. Jibril! You're up. Weren't you dying to challenge Daemon?"

Jibril: "H-huh?! I-I mean… right! Of course!"

Back in the world of Demon Slayer...

The shockwaves from Daemon's slash still rippled through the landscape. Jibril, who had witnessed it up close, was visibly shaken.

She glanced at the stockpile of fairy beans she had prepared to heal herself during battle.

...Will this even be enough?

Even she had to admit it: Daemon had gone overboard with that first liberation.

The aura was thick with death.

And the only thing of note left behind by Muzan… was a strange treasure: a necklace known as the Devil's Egg.

It could rapidly mature a child into adult form—physically, at least. The brain wouldn't catch up.

"Tch. A treasure made for a giant baby… fitting for Muzan," Daemon muttered with disdain. "But useless."

A soft voice echoed behind him.

"What a terrifying Phantasm, Mr. Daemon."

He turned to see Jibril hovering there, arms crossed, expression forced.

"Still want to fight me?" Daemon asked, voice low.

She puffed up her cheeks, voice trembling. "O-of course! A god-killer like me would never back down!"

…But her wavering eyes and quivering tone betrayed the truth.

Before Daemon could reply, a familiar voice spoke up.

"Can I go first?"

It was Kasumigaoka Utaha—her eyes filled with a quiet resolve.

She wasn't just admiring anymore.

She was ready to grow stronger.

"Huh?"

Daemon and the others turned to her in surprise.

"I've been getting stronger lately," Kasumigaoka Utaha said, her tone calm but brimming with determination.

"I want to test that strength."

Her eyes locked onto Jibril. There was no doubt who she had in mind.

"Oh?" Jibril tilted her head, a smirk tugging at her lips.

"You want me to be your test subject? How bold. A newborn calf, unafraid of the tiger, huh?"

Her voice was sweet, but her eyes narrowed coldly, and in an instant, a suffocating aura spilled from her.

It was the pressure of a true apex predator, one who had seen countless battlefields and crushed just as many challengers.

Against Daemon, Jibril could only act submissively, her pride unable to overcome the disparity in power.

But in front of Kasumigaoka Utaha? Jibril was once again the fearsome Flugel—a being of destruction, a demon queen in her own right.

The difference in strength between the two was unmistakable.

And yet—Utaha didn't flinch.

Her stance remained steady, and her gaze unyielding. There was no fear, no hesitation. Only quiet resolve.

Daemon watched silently, arms crossed. He made no move to stop them.

He understood what this was.

To become strong, truly strong, one must be willing to bleed. To fall, rise, and fight again.

Even Luo Hao, Yamamoto Mei, and Esdeath—monsters in their own right—had been brought to the brink of death by him during their battles. Each emerged stronger.

If Utaha wanted to live peacefully under his protection, he wouldn't stop her.

He cared for her deeply—liked her more than he let on—and he had both the strength and resolve to shield her forever if that was what she chose.

But clearly... it wasn't.

Kasumigaoka Utaha didn't want to be a delicate flower, tucked behind someone else's shadow.

She wanted to bloom beside him.

To stand on her own, not as someone protected by Daemon—but as someone who could protect him too.
