Chapter 152 - The Warmth of Moonlight

The next morning, after donning his usual attire—a plain white shirt, pants, and light combat boots—Mixarnt made his way to the guild hall.

The moment he stepped inside, his eyes immediately locked onto Moonlight, who stood at the reception desk, just as radiant and captivating as ever.

"M-Moon!" Mixarnt called out, his excitement breaking through as he hurried toward her.

Moonlight turned toward him, her signature warm giggle sending his heart fluttering.

But then, his excitement faded slightly, and he scratched the back of his head awkwardly.

"Oh, right… Sorry. I wasn't able to become an Aether Knight like you had hoped. You're probably disappointed in me..." he admitted, his usual grin slightly forced.

Moonlight froze for a moment.

As Eclipse, she had indeed been disappointed—no, furious—when he had rejected the knighthood. She had wanted him under her command, fighting alongside her. And in her frustration, she had fought him mercilessly in the final trial, nearly killing him without hesitation.

Now, standing here as Moonlight, she felt the weight of that guilt pressing down on her.

What if she had succeeded?

What if she had actually killed Mixarnt?

Just because she couldn't have him in her squad? Just because she had let her emotions control her again?

She hated herself for it.

And yet, here he was—apologizing to her.

Before she could stop herself, Moonlight stepped forward and embraced him.

Mixarnt blinked, startled, before his face completely buried itself in her soft chest.

His brain short-circuited.

'This… This was heaven.' He thought

Almost on instinct, he wrapped his arms around her waist, melting into her warmth.

The entire guild fell silent for a moment.

And then—

"That lucky bastard…" a few adventurers muttered, jealousy dripping from their voices.

Moonlight, still holding him tightly, silently scolded herself.

'I let my emotions control me again. I almost lost him forever because of my selfishness…' She had promised to be better for him. And yet, when she fought him as Eclipse, she had nearly betrayed that promise.

But now, seeing Mixarnt safe, happy, and here with her, all the resentment she had held onto before—all the disappointment—it disappeared. No, she wasn't disappointed in him at all. If anything, she was proud.

Because Mixarnt's decision to remain an adventurer, despite the pressure to become a knight, had cleared the guild's tarnished reputation.

Orion grinned from across the room, arms crossed.

"Gahaha! Still, your decision ended up helping the guild more than anything! Because of you, people are signing up as adventurers in droves! The guild is busier than ever!"

"That's right, Mixarnt! We're truly grateful!" Elara added, beaming. The other staff members nodded in agreement.

Before Mixarnt could respond, a new voice cut in.

"M-Moon! Stop hogging Mixarnt all to yourself!"

Misa, Kara, Jenna, Poppy, and Nessa all stormed forward, their expressions filled with playful annoyance.

Moonlight, still holding Mixarnt, turned slightly to the side—almost as if to shield him—her expression smug. As if to say: "He's mine."

The five girls immediately lunged at her.

"Y-you pervert! Get off of Moonlight now!" Kara exclaimed with a teasing grin as they tried to pry him away.

Mixarnt, meanwhile, was experiencing pure bliss, drowning in affection from the beautiful women whose lives he had touched.

The entire guild burst into laughter, some jealous, some amused, but all in good spirits.

This was Mixarnt's world.

And he wouldn't trade it for anything.
