Ariel had nearly died and that had been a horrible time for Peter. At the hospital while she had been fighting for her life, Peter had had to come to terms with the fact that if things did not go right, he would be the only Jones left from his bloodline.
That had not been a good thought to have. But it had lived rent free in Peter's head the entire time that Ariel had been fighting for her life. But in the end she had pulled through and he had thought that things would be looking good from then onwards. But now this revelation had him shook. Ariel had nearly died. That was bad enough. But now he was finding out that she had nearly died because of him.
