Of all the things that Lucy had been expecting while talking to Peter, for him to try and break up with her had never even crossed her mind. For a split second after he had said those awful words to her, Lucy had nearly fallen apart. And she was not even ashamed to admit it to herself. Peter just coming out and saying that he no longer wanted the two of them to be together had nearly unmade her. But luckily logic had come through for her. The two of them had not been having any arguments. There had been no signs of cheating, nothing like that. So for him to be saying that he wanted things between them to end, that meant whatever reason Peter deemed to be worthy of them breaking up was probably something that they could solve together, which was why she was currently listening as he spoke.
"Did you know that? Your boss helped my sister pay off a million to a loan shark. A loan shark by the name of Madam Mo to be specific?" Lucy had not known that at all.
