Within the subterranean hollow at the heart of the Water World, where the earth's crust was carved open, a dual-colored spring quietly rippled.
Scarlet and milky-white spring water mingled within the same lake, casting a faint glow that illuminated the dim cavern. The red water radiated a blazing fire-element aura, reminiscent of molten lava; nearby rock walls had already been scorched crimson. In contrast, the white spring exuded a coldness akin to ten-thousand-year-old ice, frosting the surrounding stone in a layer of snow-white frost.
Though utterly opposite in nature, the two springs existed in perfect harmony, distinct yet peacefully coexisting in the same lake.
This was a miniature replica of the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well, created by Yu Tianming using water drawn from the one in Sunset Forest. Sealed within the depths of his inner world, this version held two pool-sized quantities of the springs. Though smaller, its potency was only slightly weaker than the original.
At that moment, a graceful form slowly rose from the red spring. It was a tall woman, her skin fair as snow, her fiery red hair cascading like dancing flames. The red water droplets on her skin slid down like quicksilver, silently merging back into the spring.
Zzz— The remaining droplets that fell onto the shore sizzled, releasing thin wisps of white vapor.
"Young Master said he found a suitable eighth soul ring for me. Once I finish absorbing it, he'll return," she murmured, bending down to retrieve a storage ring from beneath the rock wall. Her graceful posture outlined a striking curve.
In the white spring nearby, another head emerged. This one remained silent, simply watching as the red-haired woman dressed herself piece by piece.
The Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well was a domain of extreme heat and cold. Even a Titled Douluo would be reduced to ash within moments of entering unless they had absorbed the Ice Crystal Phoenix and Infernal Delicate Apricot—the paired immortal herbs that granted immunity to such extremes.
This elemental well had been formed when the Water and Fire Dragon Kings' bodies fell into the Douluo Continent. Over countless years, their essence seeped into the ground, giving birth to this sacred spring. Ah Zhu and Ah Zhi, both possessing dragon-type martial souls with opposing water and fire affinities, were ideal candidates to benefit from it.
Thus, Yu Tianming infused them with his bloodline and allowed them to train in this replica well. Over time, the connection between their martial souls deepened, gradually forming a mysterious resonance between these elemental sisters.
Once she was dressed, Yu Tianming, who had been monitoring them from within his consciousness, gave a mental command—and Ah Zhu appeared before the gathered beasts.
Sensing the intense fire-elemental aura radiating from the red-haired woman, as well as the dense dragon bloodline, the Hellflame Three-Headed Mastiff, Red King, stepped forward a few paces. "Pure fire affinity… Extreme Fire? Such dense dragon blood, and even a hint of spiritual energy. Yes, I'm well-suited to become your soul ring."
Without waiting for a reply, the massive, lion-sized mastiff lowered its thickly-maned heads. A blaze of red light erupted from its body and wrapped around Ah Zhu. In moments, a soul ring with three golden patterns manifested in her eighth position, raising her cultivation directly to the level of a Soul Douluo.
As one of Yu Tianming's handmaidens, though older than him by a few years, she was still under twenty-five. With some further cultivation, she would likely reach Titled Douluo before the age of thirty, qualifying her for the Fire God's divine trial.
Now, both Dugu Yan and Ah Zhu had received soul beast sacrifices and advanced to Soul Douluo. With a wave of his sleeve, Yu Tianming returned the two to the Water World.
He scanned the remaining savage beasts, then fixed his gaze on the rippling surface of the Lake of Life, where the injured Silver Dragon King lay dormant.
Though the Silver Dragon King was half of the Dragon God and technically a new lifeform, her time secluded in the lake had left her ignorant of many fundamental truths. She devoted herself wholly to resurrecting the Dragon God, never considering strengthening herself—unlike the Golden Dragon King, who was still imprisoned yet steadily absorbing energy, evolving toward the rank of Supreme God.
Recalling how in the original story the Silver Dragon King lacked basic common sense, fell in love with Tang San's son, and eventually bore him a child, Yu Tianming couldn't help but sigh. "This world reveres strength. As half of the Dragon God, you have inherited his divine legacy. If you cultivate diligently, you might yet reach the level of a God King…"
With those parting words, Yu Tianming vanished, and the soul bone dropped from Red King's sacrifice disappeared with him.
…
At the back mountain of the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan, a tall figure silently materialized in the bedroom of a lakeside villa.
This tranquil home lay at the mountain's base, secluded and peaceful. Years ago, once Yu Tianming had shown signs of strength, Yu Yuanzhen had designated this place for his use. But Yu Tianming spent most of his time away and rarely stayed here.
Still, as a major clan, the estate was well-maintained by servants, and the villa remained dust-free.
Yu Tianming pushed open the door and entered the spacious lounge. With a wave of his hand, all the women within his Water World were summoned.
The room was immediately filled with a faint, refreshing fragrance—Ning Rongrong had just absorbed the Pair of Immortal Herbs, Qiluo Tulip and Eight-Petaled Immortal Orchid. She glanced toward Ah Zhu and Ah Zhi, who had been training in the miniature Ice and Fire Well, and asked curiously, "Why didn't you tell me the sisters were here too? What's going on now?"
Though the sisters had mostly focused on cultivation, Ning Rongrong recognized them well—they had served Yu Tianming since childhood, and she had met them at the Heaven Dou Palace years ago.
"The Water World is about to undergo a significant transformation—perhaps even a complete upheaval," Yu Tianming said gently, gripping the soul bone from Red King in his hand. "It's only fair to let you out to breathe fresh air after so long."
Dugu Yan looked around, then at the soul bone in his hand. "So we returned to the clan for you to absorb the last piece? Want me to guard you?"
She had joined the clan with Dugu Bo at age six and was extremely familiar with this villa. She also knew that after obtaining the Darkgolden Terrorclaw Bear's bone, Yu Tianming now possessed five ten-thousand-year soul bones. Once he absorbed the final piece, something extraordinary would surely happen.
"There's no danger. I just need you to protect these valuables."
Yu Tianming waved his sleeve again, and the immortal herbs once planted in the Water World reappeared, now accompanied by a towering two-meter Blue Silver Emperor, faintly veined with gold.
Though large, the plants didn't take up much room, but the vast number of soul bones he'd collected filled the entire lounge. Dozens of storage rings were piled together—most of the remaining soul bones had been placed within them due to limited space.
Finally, he absorbed the Red King's soul bone into his right leg and sat cross-legged to begin absorption.
At his level, even ten- or twenty-thousand-year soul bones took only a few breaths to absorb.
Sure enough, as he felt the energy enter his leg, Yu Tianming thought: As expected, though I already have fire attributes, this soul bone granted me elemental control over fire again. The second skill, Karma Flame Heartburn… seems related to spiritual fire.
As the last bone merged, a strange transformation occurred—the six primary soul bones, plus the Dragon God's wings, seemed to activate together.
In Chinese mythology, the five sacred beasts are: Azure Dragon of the East, White Tiger of the West, Vermillion Bird of the South, Black Tortoise of the North, and the central Qilin. Yu Tianming's five-element soul bones mirrored this cosmic alignment:
Head: Tianmeng Ice Silkworm – Mental Stability / Spiritual Manifestation
Torso: Mountain Dragon King – Earth Control / Deathly Void
Left Arm: Darkgolden Terrorclaw Bear – Metal Control / Terrorclaw
Right Arm: Sky Azure Bull Python – Wood Control / Azure Thunder
Left Leg: Deep Sea Demonic Whale – Water Control / Space Fracture
Right Leg: Hellflame Three-Headed Mastiff – Fire Control / Karma Flame Heartburn
External: Dragon God Wings – Cloud Soar / Wind Command
The moment he completed absorption, all seven bones separated from his skeleton and linked together in the air. Then they returned and reintegrated into his body—but something had clearly changed.
As Yu Tianming rose into the air, golden wings unfurling behind him, a sacred aura spread throughout the villa.
For the first time, the girls around him truly felt the chasm between mortal and divine. Even those who had seen god-level power, like Dugu Yan and the twin sisters, gazed at him with awe.
As if resonating with his breakthrough, the mountain itself stirred. Rays of multicolored light erupted, and rainbow clouds descended upon the entire peak.
Just as he'd vaguely sensed before, his five-element soul bones—earth generating metal, metal generating water, water generating wood, wood generating fire, fire generating earth—had begun a perfect cycle. The age of each soul bone adjusted to match, stabilizing around 300,000 years, and gradually increasing with the elemental resonance.
God-gear.
The realization struck him: these harmonized soul bones were a god-tier set, like divine armor—but unlike Tang San's painful remolding process, his bones fused naturally, smoothly.
No armor formed, but his physical strength skyrocketed. The truth dawned:
The Dragon God needed no armor—his body was the strongest shield. Perhaps all those divine armors were merely crutches for the weak…
With the fusion complete, Yu Tianming's cultivation broke through rank 100—he had become a Divine Officer.
On Douluo Continent, rank 100–110 marked Divine Officers, 110–120 were third-rank gods, 120–130 second-rank, 130–140 first-rank, and 140–150 stood at the level of God Kings like the Asura God.
Unlike others, Yu Tianming inherited no god seat—he would reach godhood entirely through his own cultivation. The Dragon God merely showed him the path.
And now, with the five elements converged, his Water World was undergoing an earth-shattering transformation…
