Chapter 39 - The Glided Fox

And time truly passed by fast. – He was not one to fall asleep fast. – But he had his ways to make the process faster!

Most of the time, he just plugged his phone in and played a video, listening to it as he fell asleep! Most of the time, it is simple.

Most of it, that is. – Now, Tris was simply stressed. He disliked the idea of going with his mother. A lot, he had a reputation in the end!

In the city closest to the place they were going to, he was known as a simple bard. – Nothing complex nor royal. But lovely nonetheless.

He knew there were now two ways to the magic realm of Soluna. – Rose's garden he used so many times. And his mother's gate. Or what she called the thing to pass through realms.

Tris was unsure of what it exactly was. – But he was bound to find out in the end. – Theoretically. If he mastered Ama, he should be able to do it.

If it was something related to his heavenly lineage, that is. – Then it clicked in his head.

Every god had some way to travel the realms.

A simple but plain concept. He hasn't met one that could not.

Almost like an unspoken rule. – Rose was a demigoddess of sorts. But even she had the garden.

His thoughts were stuck on this topic. – But his mind was also falling asleep to it. – His eyes closing as he stretched like a cat. – Welcoming the cold embrace.

Step by step, movement by movement. – While he was asleep, he could lightly hear someone move.

His senses were sharp. As the steps approached the bed. – Placing something on it.

And then the click of a pen. – Scratching against paper, writing.

Then the steps left the room with the same almost careless nature.

Then, a hellish alarm began just lightly ringing. – From his phone, of course.

And the fox let out a groan. Then a small, little fox-like squeak came from him. – It was just integrated into his personality.

His hand moved swiftly as his eyes opened. Tapping and sliding the phone's alarm. – His ears flickered at the sudden silence.

Right by the bottom of his bed stood some peculiar clothing. Clearly prepared just for him. – A small golden note above it. Floating.

Tris paused, giving a deep sigh, his legs crossed as he straightened his back.

His tails flicked along, grabbing the floating note. Moving it in front of Tris's eyes.

'Wear this. I'll come get you at twelve.

– Your dear, very lovely mother.'

As he read it. – The corner of his lips curled lightly. Very lovely indeed. Yet his face blanked at the piece of clothing.

It was a long, Kimono-like garment. – Sleeves long enough to go down to his knees. With golden details.

He could say he liked it. – The material covered most of his body. – Quite comfortable, it seemed.

Yeah, she most likely asked Fen about it… But one peculiar thing there was. – Right understood an almost exact copy of Althea's own mask. Not magical, but almost the same.

The only difference was that the horns were smaller. Signifying a younger age. – She was going to drag him around as her son. Wasn't she?

He gave a deep sigh, followed by a chuckle. – Tails were clinging around the clothing as he walked to the bathroom.

When he came out, he looked quite… Royal, so to speak. – Mask at his waist, a gentle cloth covering his skin.

And one thing that stood out. – A blindfold settled gently on his eyes. Yet he could clearly see as if it were not there.

His tails had two little bows attached to their ends. Golden in colour. Going well with the pink.

Yet one thing stood out. His hair was magenta as well! – Currently wet as he washed the dye out.

His hands lightly picked up the mask from his waist. – Raising it to his face as he put it on.

The blind fold dissolved into the mask, two green, sharp, green Fox eyes peeking through the holes.

It felt weird, he could breathe as if he were wearing nothing. – Wind was felt against his face.

Yet there was no wind. – But truly, it felt quite nice. – Plus, covering his face made him… comfortable, so to speak. More secure.

He took a deep breath. – The air feels cold, yet it's the type you would wish to have after a long run. Always perfect. Always expecting his next breath.

Tris was quite pleased by such a gift. – Perhaps his mother truly knew him better than he thought. – Or they were similar on this side of things.

Thoughts made him lean towards the first option. – Neither of them were bad. But wishing for the best costs nothing in the end.

The alarm rang once more. – He blinked, tapping and sliding once more. – Realisation hit, he does not set alarms. She did it for him.

Now that was one caring mother, preparing clothes and everything… Perhaps he did not feel that bad about having to go with her now.

Though he had one question that kept scratching his brain… Is it not confusing to name a city AND realm Soluna? The one that did it had bad taste…

The one that did it was probably VERY old… So the question was, which came first? The city, or the realm's name? – Neither were documented properly!

He knew that very well, and he searched through all of Fen's history books. Nothing! Empty! – More empty than his own Instagram!

It simply had, like, a photo or two. – And ask anyone, they were the most random things ever. – One was a simple Lotus Flower Origami!

Tris stopped posting on it after a funky interaction with someone on it. – Never again! – A simple limit he placed for his own safety.

Or well, for his friend's safety? – It is not like he could die easily, at worst, he goes on a rampage and murders everyone!

Oh, right, that is why he placed that limit for himself.
