"That's not true," Gilbert's handsome face darkened. "I pulled her out of the water myself and took her to the hospital. She's perfectly fine."
"You're lying!" Dean shouted back. "She comes to see me every night why didn't she come today? She must have drowned!"
Tears streamed down Dean's face as he pouted in defiance.
Gilbert looked at the heartbroken little boy and couldn't help but feel both amused and helpless. He took out his phone to call Claire Miler.
But no matter how many times he dialed, the message kept repeating: the phone was turned off.
His brows furrowed.
That damn woman, did she have no sense of responsibility? This was supposed to be her time with Dean, and not only did she fail to show up, she hadn't even asked for leave. What did she take him for?
"I told you. She's dead!" Dean sobbed even louder when he saw that not even Daddy could reach her. His little nose twitched as he cried harder.
