Bonnie looked at the man standing before her. After a brief pause, she held out her hand.
She didn't say anything. Just stood there quietly, palm open, her clear eyes fixed on his face.
Derek's gaze swept over her. He reached slowly into his pants pocket, then pulled out a small piece of candy and dropped it into her hand.
In a lazy tone, he asked, "Came here just for candy?"
Bonnie didn't respond. She stared at the candy in her palm, then curled her fingers around it before brushing past him into the room.
Derek, hands still in his pockets, turned to look at her with a faintly amused expression. "Looking for something?"
She ignored him and started searching the room. Since his punishment involved kissing a man, she doubted he'd hand over the letter willingly. She'd have to find it on her own.
