Rias leaned back again dramatically.
"Tragic," she sighed. "Responsibility truly ruins everything."
Leon looked down at her.
"You all helping too."
Her eyes widened.
"…I take back everything I said."
Leon smiled as he lifted his hand and stretched himself upright slowly. His bones gave a faint series of cracks as his back straightened.
His muscles protested quietly—not with pain, but with the dull heaviness of fatigue layered over long hours of exertion and lingering satisfaction.
The movement didn't go unnoticed.
Across the hall, the women's eyes drifted toward him almost immediately. Conversations faded. A few of the maids who had been tidying the room slowed… then stopped entirely.
More than one gaze lingered.
