Far off, Commander Black went rigid when he heard how clear it was. Got it
Then came a hush, as faint shields took shape along the property's edge - soft, unseen. A pause settled, not loud but present, like breath held under skin. Thin barriers curled into place without sound, wrapping the land in quiet watchfulness. They appeared gently, yet firm, as if drawn by something deeper than motion.
Something moved where eyes couldn't reach. Paths changed their usual pattern. The far doors locked tight, one by one. Interruption wouldn't happen - what came next stood protected.
