"Whoosh!"
Wind tore past their ears as two shadows darted through the garden paths—swift, soundless, almost invisible. Neither of them used a trace of soul power, yet their speed was staggering.
"Slow down! You—slow down, damn it!" Hera gasped between ragged breaths, her golden hair flying wildly behind her. Her long, snow-pale legs strained to keep up with Nux's maddening pace.
This man's rhythm was insane—his steps, his stamina, his sheer physical control. Is he even human? Hera thought, her lungs burning. Her current body strength simply couldn't bear the pace.
Finally, Nux stopped.
They had reached a small secluded garden tucked between marble corridors, where the air was perfumed with blooming spirit-lilies and the ground was neatly paved with blue stone slabs. Sunlight filtered through the canopy, breaking into scattered patches of gold.
