The Two Conditions
Leons eyes locked onto Adens. You could see a bit of gold in them. It was like a spark. Leons lips curled up a bit. He was really calm.. It was a weird calm. It was like he was waiting for something to happen. The whole world seemed to have stopped. Everything came down to this one moment. Leons body was still.. You could tell he was ready to move. He was like a rubber band that was stretched tight. The air around him felt tight too. It was like something was going to snap at any second. Leons eyes were still, on Adens.
He told her to go on. His voice was really low and soft. It was soft enough that it barely moved the air, between them. This made it feel of intimate. He said "I am listening" in a way that told her to keep talking.
The crater around the soldiers seemed to take a breath with the soldiers holding the silence in its empty center.
The battlefield was a mess with pieces of stone and burnt earth all around.
