Masks and Mercy
Leons steps broke the silence. The gravel made a crunching sound under his boots as he walked closer. His golden eyes looked really angry and serious in the light. "I love being at peace Aden " Leon said in a voice but it was still sharp and sounded a little scary. "I want to be a leader.. If you are not strong you can not have real peace. I do not want to stand there while a lot of people die because some people are too afraid to do something. I will not let that happen, Aden. Peace is what I want. Peace, without being strong is just not real. He stopped talking. The air was really quiet before he spoke again in a softer voice. "Sometimes mercy demands that we be strong and tough like steel and that is what mercy demands, steel."
The space between them felt really heavy. It was like the air was thick with things that were not being said. The tension between them was so strong you could feel it. The space, between them was full of emotion that was not being spoken.
