When Shadows Cross the Palace Sky
People said "Yes Sir Aden" at the time. Their voices all went up together. They sounded steady. Like they all agreed on something. Sir Aden got an answer, from them.
His jaw relaxed a little. He gave a nod. The soldiers were standing in a line. He looked at each of them. He seemed to be thinking about what they were made of. He wanted to know if they were brave or not. He wanted to see if they were scared. The room was very quiet for a time. You could feel that everyone was waiting for something to happen. Then he turned his back, on the soldiers.
The mans cloak swept over the stones like a tide as he walked back to the palace. His cloak was really moving back and forth. The man was walking towards the palace and his cloak was moving like the water in the sea. The stones were, underneath his feet and the mans cloak was sweeping over them.
