A Promise Made in Steam
Floating upward in loose spirals, steam brought along traces of lavender mixed with warmth from sunken rocks. Porcelain walls met gentle waves, each ripple arriving in quiet succession, filling the space with a rhythm almost like breathing.
Water lapped gently as Cassidy perched by the bathtub, feet barely touching, sending faint waves across the surface. Damp strands of dark hair lay against her back, clinging like wet ink, drops tracing slow paths down her arms. At first sight, she seemed calm - still. Yet something hung beneath the quiet.
She wasn't.
Over by the water, Leon eased down behind her. His arms slipped around her middle just as the flood climbed past his hips. Slowly, he pulled her closer until her spine met his front. Not a single move did she make to stop it. Sinking lower, she found the hollow of his thighs waiting - like that spot had known her name all along.
