The line was not loud. It hurt a lot. It was a thing to say and it was said in a calm and careful way. The words got under Liras skin. They stayed there. Liras fingers curled up against her leg her nails digging into her hand as she tried to calm down. She did not want to look. If she looked away for a second Lira knew he would notice it. Lira was determined not to give him that. The line still hurt Lira. She was trying to deal with it.
Leon slowly let out his breath. He brushed his hair back with a simple movement that he did all the time. The light caught in his eyes, which were like gold, really sharp and hard to read. It was as if Leon was looking at everyone in front of him. He did not think much of them. Leons eyes were, like that they were gold and sharp. They made him look like he was sizing people up.
