The Devil Walks In
Then— Creak…
The door to the chamber opened. It made a noise that cut through all the talking like a knife. The chamber was really loud, with people speaking at the time but the sound of the door stood out.
The laughter stopped the whispers stopped the rivalries that people were trying to hide stopped at once. The fire in the lamps poured out. Filled the entrance making a path of golden light all the way across the floor. The shadows got longer and bent down like they were bowing they were pulled towards the middle of the hall. The firelight was really something it made everything feel different the laughter and the whispers and the rivalries all of the things that were happening before they all just stopped when the firelight filled the room. The shadows were, like fingers they stretched out and bent like they were trying to reach the heart of the hall, where the firelight was shining the brightest.
