Chapter 557:The Two Reconcile and Have a Chat!
When Ryuunosuke saw the Infinity Orange Stone in Krul Busurud's hand, he nodded lightly.
So Ace might have avoided being controlled because of the Infinity Stones' influence.
Of course, that was only a guess.
The Infinity Stones were born from the clash between Lilith's power and Adam's power, and there were six in total.
Ryuunosuke had already obtained five.
He did not know where the last one was, and he did not care.
Right now, what mattered was breaking the shackles of this world, then resolving the problems tied to Lilith and Adam, and then leaving.
Now that he had the chance to travel to other worlds, how could he give it up so easily?
Besides, it was a promise he had made to his crew.
"I forgive you."
Just as Ryuunosuke was about to ask another question, Keshia suddenly spoke.
"Ah?"
Krul Busurud froze on the spot.
Forgave him?
He had already made up his mind.
He was prepared to trade his own death for Keshia's memories, because he understood one thing clearly.
Even if everything he said was true, how many people would actually believe it?
Something this unbelievable, paired with the fact that Keshia had accepted the so called gift while hating him, should have made forgiveness impossible.
Yet Keshia said it anyway.
In other words, she had chosen to believe him.
That possibility had never even crossed Krul Busurud's mind.
"Even though I don't remember any of it anymore, what's left inside me is still hatred for you," Keshia said, her voice trembling but steady.
"But I believe it."
"There's no hatred without a reason, and there's no love without a reason either."
"So if I hate you like this, then something must have happened between us."
"And the way you fought just now, like you wanted to die."
"And the way you shouted that apology to me."
"That's enough."
"That's enough for me to believe you're telling the truth."
As she spoke, tears welled in her eyes.
She stepped forward and threw herself into Krul Busurud's arms.
Krul Busurud went rigid.
Even his bony arm did not know where to rest, like it had forgotten how to hold someone.
"Even if you don't have a body anymore… your scent is still the scent I remember," Keshia whispered, pressing her cheek against his ribs.
"Krul Busurud… please don't leave me alone from now on, okay?"
"I… I'm sorry…"
Krul Busurud's voice broke.
He collapsed into the embrace, shaken.
He did not want to look this weak in front of Keshia, but emotions were not something he could command like a weapon.
…
"Cough, cough."
Ryuunosuke interrupted with a blank expression.
"Gentlemen, if you want to catch up, could you wait a moment?"
"Isn't this a bit inappropriate for the situation?"
"Sorry, Captain," Krul Busurud said, straightening at once.
"But I have no other worries now."
"If you want to fight, I will gladly oblige."
He drew his staff sword in a single motion.
A chill erupted outward.
The Underworld aura he carried was not as pure as Ryuunosuke's, but the sheer quantity was far greater, like a tide of cold death pressing down.
Ryuunosuke did not release his own aura.
He simply asked.
"What's your purpose in fighting?"
"Is it to help Lilith?"
"No."
Krul Busurud answered immediately.
"We don't have that kind of faith."
As he spoke, he put the weapon away again.
It was obvious.
The Krul Busurud standing here now was not the same man as before.
"Then we don't need to fight," Ryuunosuke said.
"Let's sit down and talk."
"I think you have intelligence we need."
He gestured toward the ship, inviting them aboard.
Krul Busurud turned his skull to look at Keshia beside him.
"Trusting Ryuunosuke is a good choice," Keshia said without hesitation.
"Back when I was on the Dragon Hunter Pirates' ship, even though I never gained the captain's trust, I wasn't treated unfairly either."
"They're trustworthy."
"Good."
Krul Busurud nodded.
Then he brought Keshia onto the Dragon Hunter Pirates' ship.
He had noticed before that this vessel was not like ordinary ships.
But he had never felt it directly.
Now, standing on its deck, he was overwhelmed by awe.
For a moment, he even felt he should ignore the powerful figures onboard.
Because he suspected he could not even beat the ship itself.
"Captain, are these new sandbags?"
Uvogin had just finished resting.
He walked out, saw the two of them boarding, and his eyes lit up with anticipation.
"Why is it only a skeleton? Did it get smashed apart in one hit?"
"…."
Ryuunosuke looked at Uvogin with a helpless expression.
"Ban, go train with Uvogin."
"Focus on where to start."
Uvogin's goal was no longer making his fists hit like nuclear bombs.
Now he was chasing something else.
Endless power.
And with that kind of energy, he absolutely needed something to do before he punched a hole through the wrong problem.
…
Once the noise settled, Krul Busurud spoke first.
"Captain, what do you want to know?"
"If it's about the Guardians and the Evictors, I actually don't know much."
"And internally, the goals that aren't assigned to individuals are all different."
"On the surface, they all look like they're fighting for Lilith."
Some things could not be explained in a few sentences.
The Guardians and the Evictors were groups made of people with completely different personalities.
Maybe there had been some unity when Jeff was still in charge.
But now, those common points no longer existed.
Keshia had always been like this, never listening to orders and only doing what she wanted.
As for Krul Busurud, he had been obsessed with killing Keshia, taking the body that belonged to his lover, and then using Perona to revive her.
About the others, he could not say much.
Instead of pressing further about the Guardians, Ryuunosuke changed direction.
"Vegapunk."
"I think you know him, right?"
"Vegapunk?" Krul Busurud repeated.
"Back under Roy, the chief scientist?"
"I know of him, but I'm not familiar with him."
"Not familiar?" Ryuunosuke sighed.
"He's the one who created those Wild Gods."
"So I need to find him as soon as possible."
"I was hoping you could point me to him."
But if Krul Busurud did not know anything about Vegapunk, then the rest of his information likely would not help much either.
A man obsessed with resurrecting his woman would not often be brought into the core.
And during this period, Krul Busurud had not even been participating in the Guardians' operations.
"Vegapunk…"
A quiet voice cut in.
"I know."
It was Keshia.
"Hmm?"
In an instant, everyone's attention turned to her.
Just when it felt like the road ended, a new path opened.
At least one of these two had to be useful.
