"Here's your order." The voice of the waitress broke the tense and uncomfortable silence that had washed over them— a strange fact since there never seemed to be silence between Natalie and Noah, but things always change.
"Thank you." Natalie said politely, smile clearly forced.
"You're welcome, enjoy your meal and thank you once again for your patronage." The waitress smiled politely— that fake customer service smile— and left.
"The ambience here is nice." Noah cleared his throat, desperate to find something to talk about.
Natalie barely lifted her head. "It's is." She agreed, voice bored as she tossed the vegetables in her plate with her cutleries until they looked soggy.
"Nat I—" a harsh glower cut Noahs's wordsoff.
"Don't call me like that." Natalie spat, coldness dripping from her tone. "You lost the right and privilege to call me Nat when you decided to stick yourself into my cousin sister."
