Chapter 29 - Illusion? Or Reality?

"What is going on?!" asked Emily.

She approached Tensei with the experiment, standing beside him.

"Explain yourself,"

"Look, this isn't an experiment, remember we already dealt with it before, didn't we? We came here to try and find some of our old supplies," said Tensei.

"Yeah, this is the DMMS Headquarters, we know. As soon as we got out of the illusion, Ha, I knew," said Emily.

Haruki stood quietly behind Emily, not saying anything, just standing still like a statue. Illuder looked different from the experiment they locked up. He was as tall but less bu, and his body seemed like a mirror, which was pale white, with light curving around it, creating weird circular shapes.

"What even is it? It's not an experiment," said Emily.

"It's a soul beast with the power to create illusions," said Tensei.

Before Emily lifted the illusion with her playbox, Tensei had struck a deal with the creature.

"What deal?" asked the soul beast.

"If you had come here, you needed a place to hide, right?" asked Tensei.

The soul beast was taken away by Tensei's smartness. Everyone thought that Tensei was all brawn and brute strength, even from his first impression, which was the description the soul beast would have given Tensei.

"I see, so what exactly do you mean?" asked the soul beast.

"I can guarantee yo safety if you let us go," said Tensei.

"And how exactly can I confirm this?" asked the beast.

"We are the owners of the building; it's best to trust us," said Tensei.

The soul beast searched Tensei's soul for any lies, It closed its eyes. After a second, the soul beast reopened its eyes and walked closer.

"So what exactly would you do for my 'safety'?" asked the soul beast.

"First, what's your name?" asked Tensei.

"Illuder," replied Illuder.

"Alright, I can talk to our team leader about you, he will accept if I tell him to do so," said Tensei.

"And what if you lie?" asked Illuder.

At this point, Tensei was getting angry at the n of questions Illuder was throwing at him. He knew he cared about his safety, but it was starting to get annoying for him.

"Let's make a god pact?" asked Tensei.

A god pact is a promise or a deal that neither side can break. If they broke it, they would get instant death or a horrible punishment by a god of the Earth's Pantheon.

Currently, to human knowledge, there are four gods on Earth.

The Sword God, who governs the laws and justice of Earth. He is worshipped by the Samurai.

The Earth God, who maintains the Earth in the fourth dimension. He is worshipped by the normal people of Earth.

The Shadow God acts as a silent guardian to protect Earth from outside threats. He is worshipped by the Ninja.

Then there is the final god. Only sages know about his true name. All gods reside in the seventh dimension, the sixth dimension being split into two halves. The Underworld and Heaven. The final god, who many people nickname 'The Sage God', can see the future and is the only one who has touched the final dimension beyond the Astral Plane (The eight dimension).

The Arch-Angels and Arch-Demons were formed by the Demon God and Angel God's cells leaking through the dimensional rift and reaching the fifth dimension, where it got fertilized by souls. The fertilized cells that lost their purity due to the souls that were in the Soul Realm descended to Earth as they were alive. Then the Arch-Demons and Arch-Angels were born on the opposite sides of the Earth. Arch Demons, who rule the south, while the Arch-Angels rule the North.

Illuder nodded as if accepting Tensei's offer.

"What are the terms of this deal?" asked Illuder.

"I'll help you survive if you let my friends and me survive," said Tensei.

Illuder agreed with the terms of the deal and nodded before handshaking, and Tensei and Illuder chanted in their ancient language, Song of the Souls for Soul beasts and the Demonic Language for Demons. Then, a bright yellow light appeared, which signified their pact being official.

"Pleasure doing business with you," said Tensei.

Illuder smirked.

"Alright, so what now?" asked Illuder.

Illuder's body started to twitch. He felt something that was out of order. His almost perfect illusion was starting to break.

Then, Emily and Haruki came out of the illusion, and Tensei was standing right next to Illuder.

"That's the story, Emily, if he does anything out of pocket, he will suffer," said Tensei.

"And so will you," said Haruki out of nowhere.

"Don't worry, Haruki, I am more than strong enough to defend myself," said Tensei.

"Not strong enough to defend yourself from Danso," teased Haruki.

Tensei's left eye started to twitch in annoyance while Emily laughed out at Haruki's statement.

"So how did you end up here?" asked Haruki.

"I came here looking for a home," replied Illuder.

"What happened to your old one?" asked Haruki.

The Illuder's face started to become an illusion of a normal face. Haruki knew this as the Illuder's face started to contain more soul energy than his body. Haruki was gifted with a massive amount of soul energy that causes him to notice slight changes in soul energy much faster than everyone else. Haruki went towards Illuder and punched his face.

"No more illusions, only tell what is reality," said Haruki.

The Illuder's true face became visible again. He was crying with tears of sorrow.

"I am the last one of my kind now, some ninja people came a few days back and eliminated all…all of my…family…my friends," said Illuder.

As Illuder completed his sentence, he fell and started to break down in tears and started crying. Tensei knew how it felt to be left all alone. At birth, he was rejected by his demon village, and the Arch-Angels came and destroyed his village, not leaving a single demon alive. If it wasn't for Chiro, Tensei would be like Xeno now. Even Emily's eyes started to glow with a sign of tears. Haruki was speechless.

Tensei and Haruki approached Illuder. They both looked at each other.

"Haruki, this is not the time for you to do something," said Tensei.

"I am also a DMMS colleague. I also have a job to do," said Haruki.

Tensei shut up and backed out. Emily approached him.

"If you're here to make fun of me, I'll be mad," said Tensei.

"Oh, not this time," Emily chuckled.

"Isn't it great that Haruki is growing to be more mature?" asked Emily.

"Yeah sure," said Tensei.

Haruki walked towards Illuder and hugged him.

"It's okay, you can live here for now, and when the building is reconstructed, you can live with us, try to stay out of sight," said Haruki.

Illuder wiped his tears and hugged Haruki back.

"Thanks," said Illuder.

After their journey, Emily, Haruki, and Tensei were all called to Chiro's house by a phone call fr Natsuki. They all went there.

"Guys, this is not a drill…" said Chiro.

"What's going on?" asked Emily.

"Those Ninjaro people terror attacked four cities," said Natsuki, her anger visible.

"What about Danso?" asked Tensei. "Where is that idiot?"

"I don't know, but I leave the Akuza city to him, and Natsuki, Emily, Haruki, and Tensei go to Jale, I will go to Relvon personally, and Rein will be safe under the military," said Chiro.

Then they departed to the City of Paradise, where the strictest police and highest difficulty prison existed. The city of Jale.
