Chapter 249 - Naruto: godly career system-Chapter 43: The Power of Wood Release

"System… sync Susanoo's power too!"

Kai glanced at his reputation points. Why hold back? Might as well spend it all and stop obsessing over what's left.

"Yes, Host. Synchronizing Susanoo's power will cost five million reputation points. Proceed?" the system asked.

"Yeah… do it," Kai sighed, too tired to even joke.

He'd originally planned to save up fifty million points and unlock the Tenseigan in one go. After all, his ultimate strength was rooted in those eyes—evolved to their peak in the Naruto world.

To fully synchronize all of Kai's powers would require a staggering one hundred and twenty million points. The two biggest expenses? The Tenseigan and Yin-Yang Release: fifty million and thirty-five million points, respectively.

Of course, he could do it piece by piece—like now, syncing Susanoo first. Later, if he wanted the full Tenseigan, it'd only cost forty-five million more.

But right now, none of that mattered.

Whitebeard's Tremor-Tremor Fruit was unrivaled in sheer destructive force.

In just a few seconds, he'd ravaged the entire island, leaving it in ruins.

Kai's hands flashed through seals—

Wood Release: Advent of a World of Trees!

Endless chakra roared from his body, mingling with a torrent of life force. The reason Kai chose Wood Release over Lava Release or others was simple: Yang Release. Compared to magma or metal, trees were the perfect vessel for life force—Yang Release's ideal medium.

In an instant, colossal trees erupted from the ground, their trunks soaring into the clouds.

The entire island was swallowed by a forest of giants.

Whitebeard, mid-punch, froze. His attack stalled as he stared, baffled.

So many trees!?

What the hell was this? Devil Fruit power?

But that didn't add up. He'd seen Kai use fire earlier—his own burns were proof enough. Now Kai was summoning forests? What kind of fruit could do all that?

It wasn't just Whitebeard. Pirates and Marines alike gaped in disbelief.

On the Moby Dick—

"Trees this big!? Besides the Yarukiman Mangroves on Sabaody, I've never seen anything like it!" one pirate blurted.

"Is this… Pops' power?" a tall, thin pirate wondered aloud.

"You idiot, no way! Pops ate the Tremor-Tremor Fruit. This has to be that Marine's Devil Fruit," a squat, fat pirate scoffed.

"But didn't you just say he was a Flame-Flame Fruit user? Did he eat two Devil Fruits or something?" the tall one shot back.

"Uh… well…" The fat pirate broke out in a cold sweat, unable to explain.

On the Navy warship—

Johnson stared at the island, eyes wide. "So many trees!? Is this Whitebeard's power? No… this is… the Vice Admiral's ability!"

His pupils dilated as a wild thought struck him.

As Kai's adjutant, Johnson knew for a fact Kai wasn't a Devil Fruit user—he swam in the ocean all the time. If he had a fruit, he'd have drowned years ago!

The events at Sabaody Archipelago five years ago had always nagged at him, but Johnson was no fool—he knew when to ask, and when to keep quiet.

He'd never pried, but today, seeing those towering flames again, Johnson finally dared to believe: Kai could control fire, and it wasn't Devil Fruit power.

Now, with these giant trees, Johnson instinctively guessed—this had to be Kai's doing too.

Maybe…

Maybe the Vice Admiral really could defeat Whitebeard! The thought took root, and the more Johnson considered it, the more real it seemed.

Wood Release: Deep Forest Emergence—Binding!

Across the island, roots and branches twisted into massive, razor-sharp spears, lunging straight at Whitebeard!

"They're just trees… break apart for me!!!"

Whitebeard's battle instincts were razor-sharp. Surprised for only a moment, his offense never faltered.

He punched out.

Cracks raced across the trunks. With a single blow, every tree within hundreds of meters exploded into splinters. The spear-like roots shattered, their attack snuffed out.

Kai wasn't surprised. If Whitebeard couldn't handle this, that'd be the real shock.

Besides, Advent of a World of Trees wasn't just for the binding technique.

Kai's true aim was to reshape the battlefield—create an environment where Wood Release could shine, and stabilize the shattered island with a web of roots.

"Trees… aren't as simple as you think, Whitebeard!"

Kai formed another seal. In the space of a heartbeat, the trees Whitebeard had just destroyed sprouted anew.

"Now, let me show you what wood can really do… Whitebeard!" Kai's eyes sharpened, his hands moving through a complex series of seals.
