"What?!" The brothers yelled, eyes almost bulging out of their sockets. They exchanged brief glances then turned to stare at Elena like she had suddenly grown two heads.
"What are you talking about?" They both asked, clearly not liking what she had just said.
Elena folded her hands under her chest as she heaved a deep sigh. She tucked her hair behind her ears, then went to stand in the middle of the room so the men could have a proper view of her. Then she began, "I know this is too sudden. In fact, I never even imagined that such words would be coming out of my mouth."
She sighed again, turning to Xavier, then to Killian, and then back to Xavier. "With the way things have been going, I think it's best we find a way to make this work."
"I don't think any of this will be needed, Elena. Sooner or later, you're going to reject Killian, and you'll be all mine." Xavier said in a mocking tone, leaning casually by the door like he had no care in the world.
