Chapter 22 - A Night In The Tavern!

Electra stared at Orion with excitement and disbelief as the two of them left a store.

He was clad in a grey coat that reached his knees, its high collar turned up. Underneath the coat, he was wearing a dark, light leather armor, perfect for fighting and normal activities. Slightly oversized grey trousers on his legs, tucked into a pair of black boots. He also had a half-hidden belt that held his small bag and dagger.

Electra also bought herself a new thing- a long black cloak which completely covered her body.

"I knew you'd look nice!" She smirked, walking down the streets slowly.

Orion followed her, a grimace on his face. "I know I do... but I don't feel good with anyone buying me anything..." He frowned. "Especially you, Electra."

She wrapped her arm around his neck, bringing him to her level, making it uncomfortable for him to walk in such a position. "Oi! Don't be so gloomy! You'll repay me someday, aight?" She paused and then shook her head. "No! I meant that you won't! It's a gift! We are family! You said that, no?"

Orion sighed. "Yeah, I did..." He shoved her arm away. "But that doesn't mean that you need to be so generous so suddenly, it's weird, like you're a different person."

Electra chuckled playfully. "I was mean because I hated how weak you are! It was so disgusting haha~" She poked his cheek, laughing softly. "But now, you've proven that you can grow! So I will invest in you, hatchling~!"

He stared at her for a moment, not knowing the correct words to explain what he was thinking and feeling right now. He was slightly annoyed, but also kinda happy that their relationship would slowly start being more and more healthy.

Electra pinched his forearm. "Okay, you skinny rat~! How about you eat something different that this shit you two were eating in the slums?"

He felt his blood rush to his face, and he couldn't help but smile as he thought about what normal food tastes like. "Sure, but you're paying, old hag~!" He smirked.

"A lot better!" She yelled, speeding up her pace.

Soon enough, they arrived in a tavern. Despite it being very late, there were people of all kinds, from the Order of Knights members to Adventurers.

"Ahhh! It's been sooo long since I've been in this place!" Electra looked around, admiring all the people, all the furniture, all the food, everything. "Nothing has changed!" She was thrilled.

Orion's eyes flickered among all the people. Everyone was minding their business, no one even noticed that they had walked in. "It's so... nice..." He thought to himself, the corners of his mouth slightly rising.

Electra spotted a free table, so she grabbed Orion's hand and pulled him towards it. "Come on! We've gotten a table!"

She sat down, leaning back into the chair as if she were at home. "It's amazing, isn't it?! So many interesting people! So many strong people, not like those filthy humans outside, haha!" She smirked widely, clearly excited out of her mind.

Orion sat down, still keeping his distance from her. He looked around, raising his eyebrows. "Yeah... I don't really like how you call them 'filthy'- but you are right, there are many adventurers here... the city is big, so I thought that there would be no need for so many of them..."

Electra's excitement shifted into confusion, but her smirk widened in a playful way. "Oh~? You don't know why there are so many adventurers? Hmm! I see, I see!" She moved her chair closer to his, looking into his eyes in a frightening way, trying to scare him. "Well, you see..." She pointed at the ground. "The Capital was built directly above the Great Labyrinth! Adventurers are needed to clear the floors, or else the Capital will be flooded by the mindless monsters!"

Orion scowled, his mouth hanging in disbelief. "Who the hell would even build a city above some monster-infested place?" He groaned.

Electra shrugged. "Well, I don't know. My Mommy used to tell me many stories about Caelus Pendragon, and about the origins of the Brotherhood of Riverford, but there wasn't much to explain here, the guy was a mysterious person." She turned her head in many ways, looking for the waitress.

"Waiter, waiter!" She yelled as loudly as she could, waving her hand.

A silver-haired girl with green eyes, clad in a cute waitress dress, walked up to them. She was tired and exhausted after a whole day of working, but she still kept going, which Electra respected.

"What can I get for the two of you?" She asked kindly, taking a few deep breaths afterward.

"I'd like a steak, soup, and a nice stew, you can choose which kinds, I don't really care." She said firmly.

The waitress nodded, noting everything down in her small notebook. She looked at Orion. "What about you?"

Orion looked at Electra. She shrugged her shoulders. "I want the same thing she wants!" He said with a lot of enthusiasm, wanting to be as kind as possible.

"Alright!" The waitress wiped a drop of sweat off her forehead, turning her back on them.

Electra's eyes widened, as if her life were on the line. "Oh yeah! We also want two beers, honey!" She yelled.

Orion laid his chin on the table, "You were talking about spending money wisely when you're basically throwing it around-" He paused, realizing where all of her money must be coming from. "Wait a second!" He straightened up, looking at her with suspicion. "You've mentioned that you can make a perfect copy of anything you toss into that portal of yours..."

Electra's smirk turned into an awkward smile. She was uncomfortable with the direction he was going.

"Are you copying coins?" Orion leaned in closer, smirking widely.

Electra shrugged, rolling her eyes. "So what if I am? At least I'm not stupid enough to destroy the economy. I am not THAT greedy, no?" She said, clearly ignorant of her obvious fraud.

Orion leaned away, staring at her in confusion, not knowing what to do. "Almyra would surely tell her to stop it... but... It's not like anyone's gonna realize, or she'd stop doing that just because I asked? Don't be stupid, Orion!"

The waitress was walking in their direction. She carried one plate in her hand, one on her head, and held the two big beer trunks in her hand at the same time.

"Wait, let me help you!" Orion stood up.

"No, no! Trust me, I'm fine. I'm already good at this!" The waitress smiled, wanting him to sit down.

They placed the plates and beer trunks on the table, with no mistakes and no hesitation- she just did it without any casualties. "Here you go! Enjoy your meal!" She smiled.

Electra nodded, delighted as she stared at the food. She grabbed the plate and moved it to herself. "Thank you~!" She then dug into the food.

Orion smiled at the waitress. "Thanks."

The waitress nodded and walked away into the kitchen.

Orion stared at his plate for a moment until Electra pushed it towards him.

"Don't you dare stare at the plate without eating, you filthy brat! Stuff your goddamn mouth with this heavenly steak!" She roared, grabbing the beer trunk and taking a big sip.

Orion grabbed the fork and dug into the steak. He was really hungry, and seeing such a tasty dish right there, he couldn't control himself anymore. He stuffed his mouth with the steak, tearing up as he chewed on it.

Electra's smirk widened, her cheeks faintly reddened as she teased him. "Oh ho~ It seems that little hatchling is really enjoying his food, no? And all that pleasure is thanks to me, the great, all mighty, beautiful, Electra~!" She laughed proudly, putting her hand in front of her chest.

Orion couldn't speak as he was constantly stuffing his mouth with the food, without even thinking about stopping. He was crying softly because he hadn't eaten a good meal since the orphanage burned down.

The food stopped in his throat, so he grabbed the trunk and drank the whole thing in one go, letting a deep sigh of relief.

Electra burped, moving her chair closer to his. "It's nice, isn't it? We can do anything together! The world belongs to us!" She said, excited and tipsy as she poured the beer into one of her portals.

She placed the empty trunk on the table next to Orion's. Two smaller portals appeared above, beer pouring down into the trunks from them. "See?! That's the best way to use your power, hatchling! To use it for your own pleasure, hahaha~!" She laughed loudly, wrapping her arm around his neck and grabbing the trunk. "So come on! Let's drink until we pass out!" She yelled, taking a big sip.

Orion finally gave in. He grabbed the trunk and smiled widely. "You're right! Let's drink till we shit ourselves!"

Many people noticed the self-refilling trunks, mainly drunk adventurers. Three of them walked up to their table, holding out their trunks. "Fill ours out, as well!" They yelled firmly, trying to scare and use Electra.

Electra glared at the adventurers, a few portals appeared around, a blade sticking out from each one of them. "Fuck yourself! You cunts, are not getting anything from the great Electra! You can suck my average-sized tits~!" She roared furiously and mockingly at the same time.

Orion took another sip of the beer, burping loudly as he himself was getting a little tipsy.

The adventurers' eyes flicked between all the portals, fear running up their faces as they took a step back. "Wait! No! Sorry! Sorry!" They ran away to their table.

Two hours have passed. Electra was barely standing, holding onto Orion's arm for support, and her cheeks were red. Orion was also drunk, but not as much as Electra, despite drinking as much, if not more, than her.

They were in front of the counter, the innkeeper looking at them with a professional expression. It was clear that he had seen a lot of people like that, working in a place like that.

"A room-" Electra hiccupped, looking up at Orion with a sly smirk.

"That will be five bronze." The innkeeper said calmly, not even slightly insulted by Electra's behaviour.

She reached her hand into a belt, in which she held all the pouches and potions. She pulled out a whole pouch of coins and placed it on the counter. "No change!" She yelled, grabbing the key from the innkeeper's hand.

Orion helped her to the room. She almost collapsed on the stairs, and it took Orion a good few minutes to open the door.

The room was a small, cozy room. Wooden floor, a small wardrobe, and a separate small toilet.

"Finally! I'll get some quality sleep!" Orion yelled, walking into the room with her and closing the door.

Electra chuckled, pushing him onto the bed. "Hehe~ We can sleep in clothes, noooo?" She teased, and a portal appeared above them. It passed through them, consuming their clothes, leaving them in their underwear.

Orion smirked widely in amazement. "You can do that?!"

Electra grabbed the blanket, crawling on top of him with it. "I can do everything, and anything I want~!" She then straddled his lap, pressing her modest chest against his. "Now, be a mature man and give this lovely Lady a kiss~" She leaned in closer to his face.

He stared at her lips for a long while, smirking widely.
