Professor Tyson's group project is a disaster. At least, for my group. It's not the kind where people miss deadlines or slack off. No—this is worse. It's the quiet, rotting kind. The type where your teammates avoid eye contact, laugh when you speak, and never respond in the group chat unless it's to passive-aggressively "agree with each other."
They don't say it outright, but I know. They don't want me there.
I tried to talk to them today, after class, thinking maybe it's a misunderstanding. Maybe I've been distant, maybe I haven't pulled enough weight. I approached them gently, asked if we can coordinate better, and Elin said with this fake smile, "I mean, maybe if you weren't busy being ... you."
Woah. What the hell does it even mean? I was dumbfounded.
Serena snickered. One mutters, "Guess being close with Felix gets you a free pass now."
