The silence, previously interrupted by the pressure felt from her cough, now returned more naturally, as if everyone had been absorbed in reflecting on what Yvanna had said.
"What do you mean?"
"How is that possible?"
"Are you talking about monsters?"

One question after another emerged, but the person in question didn't answer right away. She knew she had said something shocking and was giving everyone time to fully grasp the concept.
The only ones whose expressions hadn't changed were the two consuls beside Yvanna and the old Immutable.
Their eyes were steady, focused, as if they were awaiting a truth they already knew.
A few seconds later, Yvanna continued. "The invaders call themselves Devils. They claim to come from a higher-tier civilization, with beings far more powerful than us."
The room fell silent again.
"They've already destroyed numerous cities." The woman's tone remained calm, as if none of this concerned her. But only the two consuls knew the truth.
