After the horrific night when the authorities tried to capture Nia'le, many long days passed for Ixartxist, who longed to find Tassa but still couldn't find any leads or information. Meanwhile, Calguas was also busy deceiving him in order to protect Tassa. Calguas had left Tassa for a while to go to Ixartxist's house. Tassa had disappeared suddenly and couldn't be found, so Ixartxist called Calguas for a meeting to discuss Quart's whereabouts. Ixartxist asked Calguas for help in finding Tassa and for any information that could lead to her. However, Calguas would often give frivolous suggestions and even suggested that Tassa might be dead, for she had transformed into a human and unable to survive in that situation.
Despite knowing that finding Tassa wouldn't be easy, especially since she was Ixartxist's obsession and he had waited for her for over a billion years until she turned 20, Calguas couldn't give up on her. He couldn't bear to give Tassa to Ixartxist because she was very dear to him.
To keep Tassa safe from Ixartxist, Calguas allowed her to live in his own secret mansion, unknown to Ixartxist and Suman. He kept her hidden in his own room so that no one would discover her presence. Knowing that Tassa was protected by a spell that he had taught her, Calguas started searching for Céline, but couldn't find her anywhere.
One day, there was a report at the police station about a dead body found on the shore. Calguas immediately took action and wanted to see the body for himself. However, when he heard that Ixartxist was also going to inspect the body, Calguas decided to wait until it reached the morgue. He disguised himself as a relative searching for a family member and gained access to the morgue. Although he hesitated to open the cover, he needed to confirm if it was really Céline. After confirming that the corpse was indeed Céline, Calguas took her body and buried her near the cliff, a place she considered home. He didn't want her to lose the home that the three of them cherished until the very end.
After burying Céline, Calguas suddenly remembered Nia'le and wondered where he was. Despite not liking Nia'le, he still worried about him and wanted to know if he was alright and if he could help retrieve Tassa's memory.
On the other side, Ixartxist was determined to find Tassa and asked Vilyn for help. However, Vilyn refused to assist him unless he deactivated his spell first. Ixartxist blamed Vilyn for initiating the kiss that activated the deadly spell, claiming that she made the first move. Suman arrived and was planning to surprise Ixartxist, but he was the one who got surprised when he saw Vilyn's condition. Vilyn was lying on the floor, her skin turning violet, and she was losing strength and consciousness due to Ixartxist's spell.
Suman walked past Ixartxist without greeting him and went to check on Vilyn. He touched her wrist to check her pulse, which was as weak as a single drop of water. Concerned, Suman carried Vilyn and calmly asked Ixartxist about her condition. Ixartxist responded to Suman's plea with a nonchalant tone, dismissing the seriousness of the situation. "She kissed me; that's why she got the mark of death. Isn't that obvious," he retorted. Suman gently laid Vilyn on the couch, maintaining his calm demeanor as he replied, "Of course, what can I expect from you? You have never been benevolent from the very start. Instead, you are a curmudgeon, a ferocious fiend who despises social interaction. But remember, she is still my daughter, who once became your lover. You can at least treat her with more care, HONEY DEAR."
Ixartxist glared angrily at Suman, his gaze filled with frustration. He grabbed his coat from where Suman had laid Vilyn on the couch and turned his back on him, putting on the coat. "Just like you always told me, Suman. Let's not dwell back in the cave, because only bats do that. And also, stop calling me HONEY!" Ixartxist snapped.
Suman looked at Ixartxist, his expression unwavering. He responded with a touch of mischief in his voice, "But dwelling in a cave isn't necessarily a bad thing. You should visit it sometimes, HONEY."
Ixartxist angrily glanced back at Suman and started to walk away, but Suman's attention was fixed on whether Ixartxist would actually leave the room, his worry for his daughter consuming his thoughts. Ixartxist remained silent and didn't take another step, refusing to leave or utter another word. A grin formed on Suman's face, knowing that Ixartxist chose to stay rather than abandon them. Deep down, Suman was aware that Ixartxist still cared for Vilyn, regardless of their blood relation. It was evident in his actions and the concern that lingered in his heart.
As Suman confirmed the love that still lingered in Ixartxist's heart, he then walked towards Vilyn to aid her. Suman bit his wrist, allowing his blood to flow, and as that happened, his blood suddenly flowed from his mouth and then softly touched Vilyn's face, tracing down to her chin. He covered her eyes before leaning in to kiss her, intending to deactivate the spell that Ixartxist had put on her. However, when Vilyn regained consciousness, she continued to kiss Suman and suck his blood from his mouth. Panic washed over Ixartxist as he realized the danger, but he was relieved when Suman touched Vilyn's neck, causing her to lose consciousness once again.
Afterward, Suman calmly sat on the couch and asked Ixartxist to carry Vilyn for him. Reluctantly, Ixartxist complied with his dear friend's request, carefully lifting Vilyn and laying her on his bed, which faced the couch where Suman was seated.
"Why did she do that?" Ixartxist asked, frustration lacing his words.
"I don't know, maybe because I have a very delightful taste that even Vilyn couldn't resist," Suman replied casually.
"You sound incest and stupid, Suman? She almost killed you!" Ixartxist exclaimed, his concern evident.
"And so? Don't tell me you're worried? Oh, come on, I'm a demon, I cannot be killed," Suman retorted, brushing off the danger.
"She almost devoured you, and if she had, who knows what might have happened. You're so careless as always. Why did you wake her up anyway?" Ixartxist scolded.
"Of course, to help you. Besides, I kind of missed her. What kind of father do you think I am?" Suman replied, his tone tinged with affection.
"Dad?" Vilyn's voice interrupted their exchange.
"Good morning, sunshine," Suman greeted her warmly.
Vilyn immediately stood up, her confusion evident as she asked Suman why he was there. Suman grinned at Ixartxist before replying, "Checking on you, of course. Making sure you're alright under this demon's roof."
"But you don't really need to. See, Dad, I'm fine. Look, I'm alright. So don't worry about me, I'm fit as a fiddle," Vilyn confidently reassured Suman.
Suman looked at her for a moment before responding, "Of course you are, because I just healed you."
Feeling embarrassed, Vilyn apologized to Suman, but he laughed it off. "Don't worry about that, Vilyn. Ixartxist is a very handsome guy who can capture the hearts of any woman who looks at him. Especially, blood by blood," Suman teased. Ixartxist sat quietly in the corner, while Suman simultaneously praised and insulted him.
"Except Quart, of course. Well, she's the only one who's not attracted to him," Suman continued, his words bubbling.
"But isn't she blind, Father?" Vilyn curiously asked Suman.
Suman laughed at her question and replied, "Yes, he took her eyes and trapped her in the Infinite Night. She can only see lingering spirits and demons in a very dark place. The only person she can see is Ixartxist. That could be the reason why he trapped her." Suman glanced at Ixartxist, who took a deep breath and looked away, ignoring their conversation.
"To make her see only him and no other man, how greedy is that," Vilyn remarked.
Suman responded, "Well, I have heard some rumors. He is indeed greedy, and that's sad to know. But it's true that Quart doesn't like him, no matter what he did to her. How unfortunate, isn't it?" Suman murmured.
Vilyn and Suman burst into laughter at Ixartxist's expense. Annoyed, Ixartxist told them to shut up, warning them not to spread gossip about him in his room or near him. Suman and Vilyn ceased their laughter, but the mischievous glint in their eyes suggested that there would be no end to their teasing. Ixartxist exasperatedly sat on the couch, placing his hands on the sofa's arms.
Suman walked toward him, casually removing Ixartxist's arm from the sofa. Ixartxist glared at him, but Suman paid no attention. He sat down, took Ixartxist's goblet of wine in his hand, and drank from it. Changing the topic, Suman asked, "Where's Calguas, Ixartxist?"
Ixartxist continued to glare but replied, "I do not know, but I would rather hear his whining about Heaven than be with you two again." Ixartxist took back his goblet, wiping the part where Suman had drunk from it using his coat.
Suddenly, Vilyn appeared in front of Ixartxist, placing her hands on her hips. She stood before him and confronted him, saying, "After a thousand years, that's all I'm going to receive from you?"
"I don't want to lie. I wanted to be frank and honest. I hate the two of you," Ixartxist confessed, his tone filled with frustration.
Vilyn took a deep breath, then took hold of Ixartxist's other arm from the sofa. She sat on it, just like her father, and embraced him. She told him that she had always loved him, even if he hated her. Suman grinned and playfully pinched Ixartxist, who balefully looked at him but refrained from any retaliation.
As the maid cleaned Calguas' mansion, her curiosity got the better of her. Despite being warned by Calguas not to enter the forbidden room, she couldn't resist the temptation. Sneaking inside, she discovered a sight that took her breath away—a beautiful maiden sleeping peacefully on Calguas' bed. The maid's eyes widened with excitement and intrigue.
Exiting the forbidden room, the maid couldn't contain her joy as she exclaimed, "So the forbidden room was meant for his girlfriend! But why was it forbidden? Ah, of course, they must have eloped or something. How romantic! What a lucky girl she is!" The maid's imagination ran wild with possibilities, and she decided to leave the maiden undisturbed, not wanting to disrupt their secret love affair.
As she continued her cleaning duties, the maid noticed a newspaper lying on Calguas' table. Curiosity piqued once again, she picked it up and began flipping through the pages. Suddenly, her eyes widened in shock as she came across a front-page photo of Tassa. The headline revealed a shocking truth about her—she was a dangerous individual sought by the authorities. The article detailed her alleged involvement in a catastrophic event known as the "Dooms Night," where she was accused of single-handedly decimating an entire army, including her own husband.
The maid's hands trembled as she read the chilling details of Tassa's alleged actions. It was a stark contrast to the peaceful image she had witnessed in the forbidden room. The realization of the danger that lurked within the mansion sent shivers down her spine. She couldn't believe that the beautiful maiden she had seen could be capable of such devastation.
