Reina smiled wider, her thoughts dark yet loving.
Suddenly, a voice cut through the Subaru's telepathic connection, filled with desperation and urgency.
'Father! We're getting overwhelmed!' Gaea's voice rang out, sharp and panicked.
Subaru's expression hardened as he turned toward the voice. "It's not over yet, We still have a few problems to take care of."
The others nodded in agreement, understanding the weight of his words. Without hesitation, Subaru teleported, bringing them along with him to the trial grounds.
What greeted them there was chaos.
Roswaal, clad in his usual garish attire but with a grave expression, was fiercely battling Emilia and Subaru's three summoned spirits that he had assigned to protect her. Beside him was Garfield, transformed into his beast form, a whirlwind of claws and fury as he attacked without restraint.
Off to the side, Ram stood frozen. Her expression was conflicted, torn between loyalty and doubt. She hesitated, her clenched fists trembling, clearly uncertain about whether she should intervene or not.
"Stop this, Lord Roswaal! I don't understand—why are you doing this? Why are you fighting us?!" Rem cried out, her voice laced with desperation and sorrow.
"To think you would betray the trust my Liege placed in you…" Reina said coldly, her tone heavy with disappointment and disapproval.
Roswaal's gaze shifted toward them, and a hollow smile curved his lips.
"So you caaame," he drawled, though his voice lacked its usual playfulness. There was no mocking in his tone—only a heavy gravity, a deep realization.
He understood now.
He had vastly underestimated Subaru and Reina. He had thought they would be overwhelmed by the Great Rabbit… crushed by the Sin Archbishop of Lust. But here they stood, defiant and unbroken.
"Roswaal! I still don't get it!" Emilia shouted, her eyes wide with pain and confusion. "Why are you attacking us?! We're supposed to be allies!"
"Ally?" Roswaal sneered, his voice dripping with contempt. "You've been nothing more than a disobedient puppet."
Emilia's eyes widened, the sting of his words cutting deeper than any wound. A sharp breath escaped her lips as the painful truth sank in—he had been using her all along. The trust she had placed in him, the belief that they were allies… it had all been a lie.
Roswaal exhaled slowly, his expression solemn. "I wish it hadn't come to this… Truly, I do. But if I am to resurrect Sensei, then this is the path I must walk. No matter the cost."
Without warning, he turned his gaze to Ram.
"Ram… come here," he said simply, his voice soft but commanding.
Ram stiffened. Her body trembled as she looked at him, eyes searching his face for meaning—perhaps for the man she loved despite his evil plans.
"Sister! No, don't!" Rem pleaded desperately. "You can't go to him! Lord Roswaal… he's turned against us! He's become hostile!"
Ram remained still for a moment longer. Then, slowly, as if pulled by invisible strings, she began walking toward him. Her steps were hesitant, uncertain… but she did not stop.
Roswaal reached out and gently patted her head.
"What a good girl you are," he said with a twisted smile.
"W-Why…?" Ram whispered, her voice barely audible.
"Why?" Roswaal echoed, his tone rising with emotion. "You know why! Everything I've done… every step, every sacrifice—it's all for one singular purpose! To bring Sensei back into this world! And Natsuki Subaru…" He turned his burning gaze toward Subaru. "You are the final obstacle standing in my way!"
And with that, he thrust his hand forward—straight into Ram's chest.
"Nooooo!" Rem screamed, her voice shattered by disbelief and horror. Emilia stood frozen, eyes wide with shock, unable to process what she was witnessing.
Blood spilled, dark and vivid, staining Ram's clothes. Her eyes widened in shock as she looked down at the hand piercing her chest.
Reina, meanwhile, made no move to stop it. She stood still, her expression unreadable. She could have prevented this… but she didn't.
Subaru's eyes meanwhile became cold.
"So this is the path you chose," Subaru said, his voice calm, almost detached.
Ram, struggling to breathe, looked up at Roswaal one final time. Her vision blurred, but through the pain, she saw clearly.
The man she once loved… had done this without any mercy, truly the retribution for her sick love despite knowing his truth.
Tears welled in her crimson eyes as blood dripped from the corner of her lips. Her strength waned, her body faltered, and Roswaal ripped her heart from her chest with a final, brutal motion.
Betrayal. Disbelief. Grief. Rage. Regret.
All of it hit Ram in a single, crushing wave.
'I shouldn't have loved you…' she thought, staring into the eyes of a man who had long since become a monster.
Her body went limp.
Her eyes lost their light.
And with a final, lifeless thud, she collapsed to the ground.
Subaru didn't flinch. He didn't speak. He simply raised his hand and unleashed a powerful psychic shock toward the rampaging Garfiel. The beastman let out a startled cry before his body seized up and he crashed to the ground, unconscious.
The battlefield fell silent, the air heavy with the weight of Ram's death.
"I'll kill youuuuuu!!" Rem screamed, her voice a bone-chilling cry of pure rage. She drew her morning star, fury radiating from every part of her trembling body. Her eyes, clouded by tears, blazed with hatred as she glared at Roswaal.
"Zerooooo! If you want to bring Ram back, then form a contract with me!" Roswaal shouted, his eyes wild with obsession. He completely ignored Rem—her grief, her fury—as if she were nothing more than a trivial obstacle, a pebble on the path toward his goal.
But Rem didn't take being ignored lightly.
With a roar, she lunged forward and swung her morning star toward the clownish sorcerer.
But before her weapon could land, Roswaal cast a single spell with a flick of his wrist.
The impact was devastating.
Rem was blasted backward, her body sent flying dozens of meters through the air before crashing to the ground with a sickening thud. Bones snapped, her leg twisted at an unnatural angle, and she let out a cry of unbearable pain.
"Rem!" Emilia shouted, rushing to her side, her shock at Ram's death finally shaken off by sheer instinct.
Meanwhile, Roswaal turned his gaze toward Subaru and Reina, a cautious expression crossing his face.
"What are you waiting for, Natsuki Subaru? Restart the loop—unless you want her to die too!"
"My Liege, allow me to kill him," Reina said, her voice cold and seething with rage.
But Subaru held up his hand to stop her.
"You stay here… all of you," he ordered.
His three spirits went silent immediately, sensing the seriousness in his tone. The others, who had come alongside him, also halted without protest.
"F-Father! Let me incinerate this pathetic mongrel! How dare he betray you?!" Gloria snapped, her voice laced with fury.
"I said… stay here," Subaru repeated, his tone colder, darker—commanding in a way that allowed no disobedience.
Gloria flinched and fell silent, her light dimmed as she obeyed his orders.
Subaru began walking forward, his pace calm, almost leisurely. He ignored the worried glances thrown his way—by Rem, by Emilia, even by Reina—whose silent faith in him was unwavering.
Rem sobbed in agony as Emilia desperately tried to heal her mangled leg.
Reina stood motionless, her eyes trained on her Lord. She didn't move. She didn't speak. She simply believed in him.
Beatrice, meanwhile, stared at Roswaal with a distant look—nostalgia dancing in her eyes. Ram's death hadn't shaken her. In truth, she didn't care about the others.
To Beatrice, only Subaru mattered.
And it was the same for the other spirits. They silently observed their father's every move, poised to act at the slightest sign of harm to him—even if just a single strand of his hair was touched.
Roswaal, in contrast, felt his body tense as Subaru approached. Despite the rising fear, there was anticipation in his eyes—a lingering hope that Subaru would make the choice he wanted him to make.
Subaru finally stopped, just a few feet in front of him. He didn't look at Roswaal. Instead, he turned his gaze to the lifeless form lying on the cold ground.
Ram.
Her face was frozen in an expression of despair and betrayal, tinged with regret she would never be able to voice.
Subaru slowly knelt beside her and gently reached out, brushing his fingers against her cheek.
"She loved you," Subaru said softly. His voice, heavy with sorrow, hung in the still air like a solemn requiem.
To be continued...
(A/N: I never realized that making the characters suffer this much can be this amusing... It is like all the suffering that Subaru felt was now theirs to experience.
Anyway do you know, Lord Shiva in Hinduism is known as Bholenath, meaning he is very honest and easy to deceive.
Demons usually meditate for years to get boon from him, and every time Lord Shiva doesn't cares if the person is a demon, man or a god. If he prays to him, then he answers to that prayer.
In Hinduism almost all the demons had either got a boon from him or Brahma.
As for Vishnu? They would rather die than pray to him, demons hate him so much.
After all Vishnu stands for Humanity no matter the reason, and even had got cursed multiple times for it.
Back to the topic, sometimes demons have tried to kill Lord Shiva because of the boons he gave them.
It often resulted in unpleasant situation.
Yet he still gives boons, basically he is the person who is kind and honest most of the time, and scariest when angry.
Anyway, do you realize that Ainz can actually kill Reinhard for once and all?
He can simply use an Instant Death Magic followed by magic that invalidates ressurection.
Even if Reinhardt has a divine blessing that invalidates such magic.
Goat Ainz has the Skill Goal of All life is death, and essentially can just bypass whatever immunity he has.
So yeah as long as Ainz plans and is careful(which he is) he will win against Reinhardt)
