Last Chapter Recap: I'm looking forward to tomorrow… hahahahaha!
NOW
Crew Deck
"Hm hm hm~" Adam hummed to himself, a smug little grin on his face.
After good sleep at night, provided by sacrifice on my Natasha part and pleasure from Ivanna, I feel like l could take over the world!
"What's with the grin?" Heidi asked, raising an eyebrow as she stepped in.
"Good morning, Commander!" Adam said with a smirk. "You're still standing in for the captain? Man, she's overworking you too, huh?"
"Lame joke," Heidi said flatly. "Given our current situation, we need every pair of hands we can get."
"Ouch!" Adam winced, holding up his hands in mock surrender.
"Leave him be, Heidi," Selana said calmly. "The Ensign will be part of the assault team—so it's better if he's in top condition."
I'm saved from this unfortunate verbal duel by the captain…
Yes, ma'am," Heidi said with a nod.
"Ensign Adam, Ensign Natasha, and Major Aurora will storm the engine room," Selana said firmly, her tone leaving no room for argument. "Commander Heidi and the other pilots will provide backup support from the secondary corridors. No one moves without my signal."
"Yes, ma'am!" all crew members responded in unison.
"Lieutenant Brody will explain the situation," Selana said, her tone firm as she turned to the group. "Heidi, go take a nap before we go in. We need you at your best."
"Understood, ma'am," Heidi replied, giving a small nod before stepping away.
What a strange relationship those two have. Even though the commander can be incredibly strict before others, she's like a baby chick to a mother chicken with the captain.
"Captain," Brody asked, his voice sharp and steady, "Do we have everyone?"
"Not yet," Selana said, her tone a bit tense. "I sent one of the pilots to swap with their squadron leader. However, I can't locate Major Aurora..."
"Ah, I think I saw Major with the doctor yesterday," Adam quickly said. "Something about an old injury. Maybe she's still getting checked up?"
I sent doctor message to take care of our target… damn, I didn't think she's take her sweet time.
"Aurora? Really?" Brody scratched his head. "I thought she hated the medical bay."
"Isn't that good?" Selana said, her tone a mix of concern and practicality. "She needs to take good care of herself."
"I guess you're right, Captain," Brody said, his voice a bit more serious now. "I'll give the doctor a call."
Everyone's weirdly relaxed about all this… is it only me who's somewhat nervous about this assault squad?
"Instead of wasting time, how about doing your job?" Selena snapped, her voice tight with frustration. "Or do you seriously expect someone else to keep covering for you?"
Adam sighed, shoulders slumping. "Yes, ma'am," he muttered.
Fuck… she's bigger slave-driver than me…
"All right, everyone," Selena said, her voice steady and authoritative. "I'll begin explaining the plan to you."
All personnel involved in the mission have gathered… fortunately, Ivanna was quick enough to send major right away.
"Lieutenant Brody," Selena said, turning to him. "I'll leave it to you."
"Thank you, Captain," Brody said. "Everyone, as you probably know, the lower deck has been cut off from the rest of the ship." He paused, scanning the room before continuing. "Aside from emergency lights and life support, all terminals and systems are currently disabled."
Since that's common knowledge at this point, everyone present just nods in agreement.
"Because of that," Brody continued, "Lieutenant Chand and his co-mutiners are oblivious to any change in our course or conditions within the ship. Our plan will make use of this advantage."
"In one hour and fifteen minutes, our Goliath will enter a zone near Lucifer's Hole. Usually, we plot our course around such obstacles; however, with the captain's permission, I've slightly altered our trajectory."
"Lucifer's Hole?" Adam thought, the words echoing in his mind, repeating over and over.
Somewhere in a dark place, eyes glowed red in the shadows, and a smile revealed sharp white teeth. Soon, he will rise! The voice echoed through the dark, sending a chill through the air.
"You mean...?!" Natasha asked.
"For a few seconds, the Goliath will experience a pull effect from Lucifer's Hole," Selena said, her tone steady but serious. "Everyone on board will either be tossed toward the walls or pressured to the ground."
"Exactly," Brody said. "Since our side will be prepared for this event, it should create an opening large enough for the assault team to storm inside."
"For a normal human, the time to adjust to new conditions is ten seconds," Selena explained, her eyes locked on Major. "That's how much I can give you. Can you do it, Major?"
"Ten?" Aurora said, her voice sharp and eager. "I can do it within five seconds, Captain!"
So, she says, giving me a boastful look. Is she seducing me? Hah!
"That's what I wanted to hear!" Selena said, her voice firm. "All right, time is of the essence! Everyone, make your final preparations and get ready! Dismissed!"
Everyone saluted and quickly left to prepare.
