Riven opened his eyes to the vast wasteland that was ruined from battle. The skies were blood red, and the air crackled with embers of flames.
Riven saw different monsters running for their lives—Lizardmen, Goblins, Minotaurs, and more—each one looking for a way to escape.
And chasing them were the Beletrexs, many of them pursuing the monsters and consuming their souls with their tendrils.
Riven snapped back to reality after seeing that. His body was covered in sweat. This was the first time he had felt dread for the visions he had seen.
This is the first time I saw the creatures in my visions this clearly, he thought to himself. The vision lingered in his mind for minutes, passing—it was unsettling.
He decided to push the thoughts aside for now and focus back on his studying, but every once in a while, the thought of the vision would flow back into his mind.
