"I understand, professor. I'll keep your words." I said. It's true that I could get a permanent Energy Poisoning or I could put a crack to my core. I have thought of those consequences before when I created Limitless Force. It is powerful, but it is a double-edged sword.
A skill that could kill your enemies, but at the same time, it could damage your core permanently.
"Professor. How come I don't have Force Affinity yet? Am I doing something wrong?" I asked. I am not frustrated that I don't have a Force Affinity, but I have been curious lately as to why.
"I don't know. This is the first time I have ever heard someone who doesn't have Force Affinity at the age of fourteen. When a zolgarian reaches age twelve, not only they form their Force Core, but they also unlock their Force Affinity. But for some reason, you have not." He said, carefully examining my sternum. I could see his Force Senses active, meaning he was looking into my Force Core.
"Even if I don't have an affinity, can I still have a Rune Tree?" I asked.
"Yes. You have shown expert proficiency in Force. If you build a Rune Tree and place Runes to your core, then your Force manipulation could increase more." He answered.
"That's the problem. I don't know how to start. I've been pondering about this when I was still in the frontlines. But I don't want to risk my core because a single mistake can damage my hard work." I said as frustration slowly arises from within me.
"But yet you are willing to put your core at risk to save someone?" He asked, making me flinch at how I sounded like a hypocrite just now. "I'm just kidding. Also, no zolgarians were able to build their Rune Tree until they become Guardians."
"But it is possible to build it in my own, right?" I asked.
"Yes. It is possible. But be careful though. Like what you said, a single mistake can cause you permanent damage that you cannot reverse nor heal." He warned. "Besides, it takes patience, Arthur. Don't rush things. As time goes by, you will realize that you are able to achieve what you thought you couldn't."
