Rocky looked defensive. "You don't lick rocks! You admire them!"
"Rocky, you need to be responsible in protest!" Boo said.
Dante let a faint smirk appear before turning to Luna. "And speaking of responsibility…" His voice dropped slightly lower. "I was actually planning something special for the wolf cubs today."
Luna's ears perked up instantly. "Wolf cubs?"
"Yes," Dante continued smoothly, "a wood race in the north forest. A real one. The young cubs are training their paws and testing their hunting instincts. I thought I might give a medal to the fastest one."
Her golden brown eyes gleamed like fire. "You... you're organizing a cub race and you didn't invite me?" she barked, tail starting to wag furiously.
"I assumed the protest would keep you occupied," Dante said mildly, his expression unreadable.
Luna stood up at once, nose flaring. "I protest that! A wolf race without me is illegal!"
"Then I expect you'll attend?"
"I'm already warming up my paws!" she growled proudly.
