The quiet voice, in the mist-shrouded forest, sent a strange chill down their spines, from their feet to their heads. Zabuza Momochi's face also darkened.
"Blood Asura, don't push your luck. Or even a cornered dog will bite," he said.
Ten days ago, when news of the annihilation of the vanguard force that had attacked Konoha's northwest stronghold reached the Mist village, Zabuza Momochi had been shocked.
He knew that the leader of that force, the "Pufferfish Demon in Mist", Fuguki Suikazan, and one of the "Thunder of the Hidden Mist", Raiga Kurosuki, were no less skilled than him among the Seven Ninja Swordsmen.
In some ways, they were even better than him.
After all, the possessors of the Kubikiribocho throughout history were best known for their silent assassination techniques.
In a direct confrontation, Zabuza Momochi admitted that he was indeed not as good as Fuguki Suikazan and Raiga Kurosuki.
However, even they, working together, had been killed by the Blood Asura.

He quickly sped up, trying to escape, but the world blurred before his eyes.
The figure he least wanted to see stood in front of him, and the head he was holding was the subordinate he had thrown behind him.
"Please take back your trash," Kai said, throwing the head back to Zabuza Momochi.
Blood splattered everywhere, making Zabuza Momochi's face twitch.
The next moment, his face contorted, and he roared angrily.
"Kid, since you're forcing me, then die!"
"Water Release: Giant Water Fall!"
Zabuza Momochi quickly flipped his hands, chakra frantically gathering in his hands.
A figure wrapped in lightning, like a ghost, appeared in front of him, one step ahead.
"I said, when you have a lot of chakra, let me have a go first!" Kai smiled playfully.
He swung Samehada towards Zabuza Momochi.
The sudden outburst made Zabuza Momochi's face change dramatically.
Without thinking, he quickly dissipated the gathered chakra, raised his Kubikiribocho, and blocked.
Bang!
A dull collision echoed.
The tremendous force of the impact sent Zabuza Momochi flying backwards.
He finally stopped when he crashed into a tree eight meters away.
"What strength, what swordsmanship."
In the moment of their collision, the position where Kai's Samehada struck was clearly the weakest point of the Kubikiribocho, near the hilt.
He was able to change his target in an instant.
This was completely beyond Zabuza Momochi's understanding of Kai.
In his eyes, Kai was very strong.
But wielding Samehada, such a large weapon, was clearly very difficult.
After all, in the original story, only one person could wield all seven ninja swords at the same time.
That was Mangetsu Hōzuki.
