Chapter 270 - Chapter 270: The Power of Extreme Dream Weaving

Chapter 270: The Power of Extreme Dream Weaving

"Scabbers… is missing?" Harry's face showed a strange expression when he heard Ron. He had already seen Scabbers' real name on the Marauder's Map.

He had always suspected that Ron's rat might not just be a rat. However, he never knew how to tell Ron about it. And now, the rat had suddenly disappeared.

Ron nodded. "Yeah! It's gone for no reason. I really suspect Hermione is behind this!"

"Huh?" Harry was surprised. "What does this have to do with Hermione?"

Ron glared. "How can it have nothing to do with her? She has that stupid cat! It's always wanted to bite my Scabbers. Now Scabbers is suddenly gone. That damned Crookshanks must have found an opportunity to eat it when my Scabbers was all alone!"

Harry blinked. "Um… did you ask Hermione about this?"

Ron immediately nodded. "When Scabbers went missing, I went to her right away."

"But do you know what she said to me? She said my rat liked to wander around and that it was probably eaten by some other cat. She said it was the stupidest thing in the world for me to blame her! You have no idea how angry I was when she said that! I was so mad I was about to die!"

Harry's mouth twitched, and he looked at Dylan for help. However, Dylan kept his eyes on his nose and his nose on his heart, remaining silent. He couldn't be bothered with this kind of thing. Let Sirius, Peter Pettigrew, and the others do what they wanted.

Anyway, when it was all over, he would invite all of them to his world as his guests. Before that, he should of course let them finish what they wanted to do.

After all, he was such a reasonable and considerate wizard and never liked to force others. And by then, Dylan believed that with his sincere invitation, Peter Pettigrew or Sirius would be very happy to be his guests in his world.

Seeing that Dylan had no intention of helping him talk to Ron, Harry pursed his lips and gave a dry laugh. He turned back and faced the angry Ron alone.

"Maybe… Scabbers wasn't eaten by Crookshanks?"

"Besides it, who else would want to eat my Scabbers? No other pet is that interested in my Scabbers!"

Harry opened his mouth. "What I mean is, nothing ate Scabbers. It wasn't eaten; it ran away on its own?"

"How is that possible? Why would it run away on its own?" Ron turned and looked at him in disbelief.

Harry hesitated. "Well, maybe… it knew it was getting old and wanted to find a place where no one was to hide and not let you see it die? Don't you think that's a possibility?"

Ron was stunned. "Is that so?" But after two seconds of silence, he stubbornly said, "How could it suddenly die? I still think Hermione's Crookshanks ate Scabbers!"

That's right, he would be stubborn, even if he had no evidence to prove it.

Harry was helpless. He asked Ron why he was so stubbornly convinced that Scabbers' disappearance was due to this possibility and not the one he mentioned. Although Ron couldn't give a good reason, he said, "If it wasn't, why would Hermione get so angry when I went to question her? Her reaction was too much, like I had caught her! You have no idea how fierce she was when she talked to me!"

"And I'm not without evidence!"

Harry was stunned again. "You have evidence that Scabbers was eaten by Crookshanks?"

Ron immediately nodded. "Of course!" He took a small clump of ginger-colored hair out of his pocket. It looked like cat hair. "Here! This is the evidence!"

Harry looked closely. "This? Is this Crookshanks' hair?"

Ron nodded. "Yeah! This color, you can tell it's that cat's! I found several strands by my bed! Doesn't this prove that my Scabbers was eaten by that damned cat?"

Harry was speechless. Had some evil thing eaten Ron's brain? But looking at the indignant Ron, Harry carefully said, "Crookshanks has also come into our dorm before. There's some of its hair on my bed, too…"

However, Ron didn't listen to a word Harry said and just kept mumbling to himself. "Hermione only knows how to do her homework. When I went to question her, she just scoffed at my reaction! And she said this hair wasn't evidence at all. If this isn't evidence, then what is?"

Harry scratched his head. "Did you just get into a fight with Hermione?"

Ron huffed heavily. "Yeah! I should have been more aggressive. So many people were watching me, but she made me speechless!"

Harry paused slightly. He knew why there were so many excited people gathered together when he came back. There were too many people, and he couldn't squeeze in. And judging by the students' reactions, it didn't seem like anything bad had happened, so he just hurried back.

He didn't expect that Ron and Hermione were arguing… He should have gone to try to stop them! Looking at Ron's reaction now… had he and Hermione broken up completely?

Harry looked at Dylan for help again.

Dylan pursed his lips and rolled his eyes. "You might as well just tell him yourself."

Harry was stunned. Ron also paused and looked over curiously. "What? What is it? Is there something you guys are hiding from me? Or do you know where Scabbers went?"

Harry's expression became strange. But this just made Ron even more curious.

"What in the world happened?"

Harry hesitated for a long time and finally scrambled onto his bed. He took off his shoes, got into bed, and pulled the curtain down. He then pulled the curtain back just enough to peek through and waved at Ron with his other hand. "Come here."

Ron was dumbfounded, but he slowly walked over. As soon as he got close to the bed, Harry grabbed his arm and pulled him in. "Ah! No, what are you doing?" Ron was a little panicked. Why was he being so secretive and pulling him into bed?

But Harry didn't answer. He just used his wand to take off Ron's shoes. Then he pulled on the curtain and let it fall.

Dylan glanced at Harry's bed and his mouth twitched. "Is he in such a hurry?" He shook his head and went back to reading his book.

After a while, Harry must have explained everything to Ron. Dylan saw Ron jump out of Harry's bed in a hurry. He didn't even put his shoes on properly. He just stumbled out of the dorm and into the bathroom.

Harry pulled back the curtain, a look of worry on his face. He looked at Dylan. "Do you think Ron is okay? He looks really bad."

Dylan guessed that Ron had probably run to the bathroom to throw up. He had no interest in watching that. But Harry was interested, of course…

Dylan snapped his fingers. The next moment, a crystal ball appeared in his palm. Dylan gently traced three circles on it with his finger. Then, the mist inside the crystal ball spread out, and a scene slowly emerged. Dylan then casually tossed the crystal ball to Harry.

Harry quickly reached out and caught it. When he looked down, the scene in the crystal ball had completely formed. He saw Ron with his back to him, his red hair messy and hanging down. He was practically hunched over the toilet, his shoulders violently shaking, causing his loose wizarding robes to tremble. He looked pathetic, like a drunkard who had just swallowed a whole bottle of spoiled butterbeer.

Harry's eyes widened. He looked at Ron throwing up in the crystal ball and instinctively flinched from the shock of the image. The crystal ball almost slid off his lap. Luckily, he reacted quickly and used his other hand to hold it. His mouth involuntarily turned down. He was about to show some concern. But then he saw Ron stop in the middle of throwing up, look up with a flushed face, wipe his mouth, and start throwing up again.

Harry couldn't help it. His nostrils twitched. No, no, I can't laugh out loud! Even though his best friend was in so much misery, the sight of him hugging the toilet and throwing up was a little too hilarious. Harry scratched his head and looked at Dylan again. "This… he'll be fine, right?"

Dylan glanced at Harry, and with a flick of his finger, the crystal ball left Harry's hand and flew back to him. "What could be wrong with him? He just threw up a couple of times."

Dylan looked at the crystal ball. Ron had already thrown up most of it, but when he looked, he threw up twice more and then finally stopped. Dylan's mouth twitched, and he quickly made the scene in the crystal ball disappear. It was a little too disgusting.

Hearing Dylan's words, Harry breathed a sigh of relief. "As long as he's okay…"

Dylan put the crystal ball away. The truth was, Scabbers' sudden disappearance had nothing to do with Hermione, but it had a little to do with Dylan. As everyone knew, besides Lockhart and Riddle, Ron's rat, Scabbers, also known as Peter Pettigrew, had always been another one of Dylan's test subjects.

However, he had cast a spell on Peter. No matter how many times he used spells on Scabbers, Peter wouldn't remember what happened. He would just think that he had just had a good nap.

Dylan had previously mastered a max-level spell: Extreme Dream Weaving! He could directly create dreams in a person's mind. Because of this spell, both The Gate of Lucid Dreaming and Mnemosyne's Veil had been greatly improved.

Dylan would use these three spells on Scabbers from time to time. After all, Lockhart had no memory at all. And it seemed that due to the Obliviate spell he had cast on him and the spell backfiring, Lockhart's brain was a little addled now, and he was a bit of an idiot. However, Dylan had used Extreme Dream Weaving to create another personality for Lockhart.

At least he had to have some intelligence to understand the commands he gave. Now, he had asked Rowena to study his brain. If she could find his previous memories, Dylan might be able to find out more about the blood diamond made from a unicorn's heart that he had found in his home.

However, Dylan didn't have much hope for this. But it didn't matter. He had studied the blood diamond. It didn't seem to be anything useful. In that case, having one, two, or three of them didn't seem to be a big deal.

However, the situation with the unicorns had piqued Dylan's interest. But since it hadn't been a month yet, he didn't know if Orell could convince those stubborn centaurs. But that didn't matter, either.

If he was forced to use dark arts in front of these centaurs, they shouldn't blame him for kidnapping the entire centaur family. After all, it would be easier to just kidnap them all than to use Extreme Dream Weaving on each and every one of them to reshape their memories.

That way, his world would have another race. And this new race would be marked by his world. Naturally, they would adapt to the ecosystem of his world and integrate into the balance. By then, his world might even be able to produce its own baby centaurs.

He seemed to be getting a little off-track. Dylan pulled his thoughts back.

The reason Ron's Scabbers ran away was because when he was using Extreme Dream Weaving to change Peter Pettigrew's memory, he directly planted the memory of Crookshanks chasing him.

In fact, Crookshanks had been interested in Scabbers, but after Hermione scolded it, it hadn't bothered Scabbers much. No matter how curious it was about this strange rat, it didn't want to disobey its owner's commands.

But after Dylan planted the memory of Crookshanks chasing him in Peter Pettigrew's brain, the guy actually thought Hermione's cat was going to tear him to pieces and bite off his head.

The guy fled in a panic. The memory Dylan planted also included that he should leave Ron's side and hide for a while until the cat lost interest in him before coming back.

It looked like the power of Extreme Dream Weaving was quite strong. It could even make Peter Pettigrew believe something that was almost impossible and defied common sense.

If he thought about it, he would know that as long as he stayed by Ron's side, Ron would never let Crookshanks get close to him. Thus, he wouldn't be eaten by Crookshanks. But Dylan made him run, and he actually ran.
