Chapter 139 - Chapter 139: I'm Cthulhu?

Chapter 139: I'm Cthulhu?

"It's time to bring in some creatures, so there'll be more blood to shed."

Dylan gazed at the small forest, a thoughtful look in his eyes.

Turning his head, he let Coal and Norberta play on their own, while he turned and walked into the small house.

Using spells to control a group of small spiders and cockroaches, he released them directly into the forest.

He also brought in the Cornish Pixies he had kept caged.

"Don't mess with my things when I'm not around, or I'll stuff your heads into your kin's rear ends."

Dylan spoke calmly to the Cornish Pixies.

—He had previously extracted the raw soul of a dying Cornish Pixie and, using the 'Whispers of the Residual Soul' spell, learned the language of their species.

Faced with Dylan's threat, these blue pixies, having witnessed how cruel his methods could be, dared not cause any trouble. After obtaining Dylan's permission, they scattered immediately.

Except for a few that were somewhat on their last breath, likely destined to become experimental material through his 'Corrupting Bloom' spell, Dylan released all of them into the forest.

—Living in a completely natural ecological environment would increase their breeding frequency.

Dylan even wanted to use some aphrodisiacs on them to make them reproduce quickly and ensure their species multiplied.

While these pixies weren't particularly useful and their materials weren't very valuable, they made excellent test subjects for Dylan at the moment.

"When I have time, I also need to catch a few Acromantulas from the Forbidden Forest. But the space is still too small to catch too many. Next, I need to quickly save money to continue upgrading the space. It needs to be expanded to at least 100,000 cubic meters to be considered a respectable size."

Having made up his mind, Dylan began to feed his two pets.

Actually, it wasn't really "feeding"; he just prepared their food bowls.

One iron box, one large steel basin.

He threw the food into them.

Dylan called out to them, telling them to be mindful of the Cornish Pixies—they could discipline and bully them, but not kill them.

Immediately after, Dylan left the suitcase space.

After all that effort, the sky was gradually darkening.

Dylan's stomach grumbled at just the right time.

He headed to the Great Hall, ready for dinner.

The full moon was approaching, meaning he'd have to chew on the moonseed again soon.

Before that, he naturally wanted to have a few good meals.

He planned to eat to his heart's content!

On the way back from the dining hall, Neville was with Dylan.

Dylan went late, but Neville also ate slowly and a lot, so they chatted while waiting for Dylan to finish eating, then returned to the dormitory together.

Using a Cleaning Charm again, Dylan slipped into bed.

This trip to Diagon Alley had unlocked several achievements, and he wanted to check them.

He quickly scanned these rewards.

Unlike the max-level Dark Magic spell he received from Cthulhu before,

this time, there seemed to be quite a few tangible rewards.

Dylan paused, then first claimed the reward for the max-level Dark Magic spell.

He skillfully entered the depths of outer space, and skillfully braced himself for the stars to crash down.

Dylan's vision blurred, and he found himself standing in the center of a dark, decaying swamp, filled with the stench of decay.

Gale-force winds howled, making his black robes flap wildly, and Dementors drifted continuously all around him.

Dylan slowly raised his wand, its tip glowing with an eerie, faint light, contrasting with the thick, inky darkness surrounding him.

Dylan's lips parted slightly, and with a low, oppressive voice, he uttered a spell.

The next moment, a faint layer of black mist rose from his feet, gradually enveloping his entire body.

Within the mist, faint, dark red lights flickered and danced, like countless eyes hidden in the darkness.

The aura emanating from Dylan grew even more terrifying, chilling to the bone.

From a distance, he was clearly still just one person standing there, yet it seemed as if many real, existing eyes had appeared around him.

Those eyes scanned everywhere, blinking.

The Dementors, which had been wandering nearby, occasionally making strange hissing sounds, suddenly became flustered like startled birds when those eyes fixed on them.

Their already blurry forms trembled even more violently, their translucent, dark bodies twisting and writhing in the shadows.

Under Dylan's influence, the Dementors desperately tried to get away.

Some Dementors seemed so frightened that they desperately searched their chaotic memories for happy thoughts.

"﹁_﹂?"

In the last second before Dylan broke free from the illusion, he wasn't sure if his eyes were playing tricks on him—he thought he saw faint, silvery-white matter on those Dementors.

"What's this supposed to be?"

Message: Congratulations! You have mastered the max-level spell—Erebus Nexus (厄睨克苏鲁)! "Huh? I've become Cthulhu??"

Dylan was confused, thoroughly confused.

—This spell was utterly incomprehensible.

So…

"Did those Dementors lose sanity when they saw me? And... were they trying to cast a Patronus Charm in the end?"

Dylan's eyes went dark.

Who exactly is the Dementor here?

"And System, are you sure Dementors can use the Patronus Charm? You're just making up illusions for me!"

Dylan rolled his eyes, then looked at the next reward.

"Wand of Authority?"

The name sounded pretty cool.

After claiming this reward and adding it to his inventory, Dylan looked at its panel description.

Item: Wand of Authority Description: An evil wand, supposedly of authority but actually just for show, made from ancient dragon bone, 47.2 inches long. You can absolutely use it as a walking stick. Wielding it allows you to cast powerful illusions.

Abilities: By wielding the wand, you can spontaneously choose to create three illusions—Phantom Dragon, Mountains of Corpses and Seas of Blood, Bloody Throne.

Note: Perhaps you will later acquire something to strengthen the wand.

"Illusions?"

Dylan quickly scanned the description of the Wand of Authority, generally understanding its capabilities.

—Purely for showing off.

As for the note...

Perhaps he'd acquire something to enhance the wand later? What could it be? A Sharingan? Dylan rolled his eyes again.

This wand was more like a scepter and differed from a regular wizard's wand. Dylan figured this wand would only be useful when he was playing his alternate persona.

"Why are all my rewards only usable on my alt account? Tomato!"

Dylan looked at the next reward.

Item: Portable Magic Library Description: Are you still troubled by too many books and no place to put them? Are you still worried about book shelves being too big and unable to find books? The Portable Magic Library is worthy of your choice!

Ability: Its appearance is just a large wooden cabinet-style bookshelf, but opening the library reveals a vast internal space. After books are recorded, the shelves automatically expand as more books are added. It has a built-in retrieval function: simply mentally call out the book's title, author, or keywords, and the corresponding book will automatically fly out.

Note: Placing books inside automatically records them.

"A good one!"

Seeing this reward notification, Dylan's eyes finally lit up.

Finally, something practical!

The books he currently owned, while not enough to fill an entire house, were certainly not few; they could at least fill several bookshelves.

And as time went on, he was bound to acquire even more books.

This included, but was not limited to, his own notes, purchased books, copied books, and so on.

When he eventually had more books, while his pet space suitcase could store them, and even his inventory could, retrieving them would become troublesome.

It was precisely because finding books one by one in his inventory was such a headache that he had taken them out, organized them, and placed them on shelves.

However, the pet space was ultimately a pet space. Since it was for pets, it was naturally meant for pet use.

It wasn't that it couldn't hold books, but as the number of books increased in the future, putting them in the pet space might lead to accidental loss, which was also a concern.

Moreover, as the number of books grew, simply dividing them into shelf areas wouldn't make finding a specific book easy.

But now, this Portable Magic Library would allow him to find any book just by thinking of its title, author, or even related keywords. This greatly freed up his energy and saved him time.

"Not bad, not bad. I'm very satisfied with this item." Dylan finally broke into a genuine smile.

He extracted the Portable Magic Library from the achievement panel into his inventory, intending to organize his existing books soon.

And the last reward...

"Goblin Tribe?" Dylan turned sideways, pretending to rest, but secretly clicked his tongue.

If he understood correctly, in this world, goblins—should refer to Goblins, right?

He just wondered if the goblin tribe rewarded by the system was different from the Goblins at Gringotts.

Goblins could use magic, but since the system didn't call these "Goblins," Dylan's first thought was that these goblins probably only knew how to wield clubs.

He pondered for a moment.

Dylan then got up again, put on his clothes, whispered something to Neville, and then slipped back into the suitcase.

At this moment, the environment within the space had grown dim, unlike the last time he entered when it was still bright.

The time inside seemed to be synchronized with the outside world.

Coal and Norberta were resting in an open area nearby.

—It looked like they were tired from playing.

Upon seeing Dylan, both little creatures lazily wagged their tails, but neither came towards him.

Dylan's mouth twitched.

However, he hadn't intended to focus on these two anyway. Instead, he made his way deeper into the forest.

The Cornish Pixies all hid from him.

Dylan didn't mind.

He found a suitable spot and extracted the system's reward.

A rift tore through the void.

In an instant, a dozen green-skinned creatures appeared before him.

Dylan raised an eyebrow.

These goblins were small but quite sturdy. Their skin was a nauseating dark green, with varying sizes of bumps covering some areas.

Their ears were very pointed, which was somewhat similar to the Goblins at Gringotts.

The difference was that these goblins' tiny, pea-like eyes now gleamed with bloodthirsty light.

Each goblin tightly clutched a huge, crude wooden club, adorned with sharp stones and rusty nails—clearly quite lethal.

As soon as these ugly creatures emerged from the rift, they swung their clubs, excitedly jumping back and forth, making "gurgling" monster noises.

"They're really noisy."

Dylan looked at these creatures, his expression calm.

He raised his wand and pointed it at the loudest one.

"Avada Kedavra!"

A emerald green light shot out.

It hit the goblin dead on.

The latter didn't even have time to scream before its body stiffened and it fell straight down.

"SoulBob Tongue!"

Dylan slightly raised his wand.

A faint light slowly withdrew from the goblin's corpse and merged into Dylan's mind.

In an instant, a flicker of strange light passed through Dylan's eyes, but he still didn't stop.

"Putreflorifera!"

As the spell was cast,

a strange black flower sprouted on the dead goblin's corpse at a visible rate. Its petals were as black as ink, while the goblin rapidly shriveled, ultimately becoming the black flower's nourishment.

Dylan waved his wand, collecting the black flower.

Then, he slowly turned and looked at the goblins, who were trembling with fear at the sudden turn of events, each with their heads bowed low.

"Listen closely. If anyone here causes trouble, makes a mess, or if I find that you've trampled a flower or killed any creature, this will be your fate!"

As his words fell, he threw a few pieces of raw meat to the goblins.

Upon seeing the food, the goblins instinctively wanted to scramble for it, but with Dylan standing there, they cowered in place like little chicks, not daring to move.

"Eat, you disgusting mongrels."

Only when Dylan spoke did the goblins dare to move.

After understanding the language of these goblins, he also generally understood their way of speaking.

For example, these creatures would only be motivated to obey the commands of a superior if they were severely insulted.

Just a beating wasn't enough; they had to be cursed at a few times as well.

Dylan pursed his lips, pondered for a moment, and then said nothing more. Instead, his figure transformed into a black shadow and swiftly flew towards the wooden house.

He didn't directly cordon off an area to keep these goblins.

After all, this small forest was only so big. Fortunately, neither the Cornish Pixies nor these goblins were too numerous.

The space could perfectly accommodate them.

Therefore, the very reason Dylan had spent a large sum to unlock the ecological self-circulation ability was to allow various creatures to develop naturally here.

Although this goblin tribe didn't seem like a good lot.

However, their appearance did, to some extent, fill Dylan's experimental subject void.

And with Coal and Norberta present, these goblins wouldn't be able to cause any significant trouble or destruction.

After being put in their place a few more times and enjoying the daily feeding without needing to hunt, these ugly, seemingly cowardly creatures would probably have nothing but reproduction on their minds.

Dylan gave Coal and Norberta some instructions, then left the suitcase.
