Chapter 16 - I... miss my wife

One arm over his chest and the other on his neck, two very soft, big balls on his back, and a warm breath hitting his collarbone.

He instantly recognised the person.

"Kirin, what are you doing here! I betrayed the Empire, you shouldn't—" Johan's words were cut off by a soft finger on his dry lips from dehydration.

He turned back, a well-proportioned body with excellent curves, white long hair reaching her revealed back, piercing blue eyes which were now soft,

a face of a girl in her twenties—Kirin Von Matilda, younger sister of Johan, and one of the strongest people in the entire world.

She wore a tight, black crop top that stopped just above the start of her waist, revealing the white skin of her, enhancing her already massive assets,

paired with a crimson sarong wrapped low around her hips, hinting at the curve below.

The clothes she wore weren't to entice men like everyone believes after meeting her, but to be able to move freely as a stage 0 swordswoman.

'In-game, she attacked Leor's group alone, setting the whole city on fire to trap them… it was after Leor had killed Johan, so she had lost it. In the end, Selene was the one who killed her…' Johan felt a deep hollowness in his heart, remembering her fate.

'His' heart definitely had the most attachment to this person, right beside Alya, Acier, and Selene. He even felt a bit of hatred towards Selene.

'What if she set a small town on fire? You shouldn't kill your aunt like this.' He shook his head at the prodigal daughter of his.

"I don't care! There is no way I will just watch you die, and do nothing… Just explain to me later." she said seriously, her voice a low whisper, still tightly hugging the handsome face of Johan in her bare arms, running a hand through his white hair.

"That's stupid. Go back now! You don't need to—" Johan was about to list hundreds of reasons for her to leave, but she just shook her head, listing one.

"A battalion of a few thousand soldiers was tracking you while I was trying to find you. So, I launched a super big fireball on them, since I don't want them to hinder you." She stuck out her red tongue playfully, like she just played a harmless prank.

Johan's eyes widened at Kirin's words, pushing himself out of her warm embrace. 'Her super big fireball is basically an atom bomb on steroids…'

"I mean… You killed so many people," Johan hesitated, as the words clearly didn't suit coming out from his mouth.

But the James in him was practically screaming. Mind you, those were hard-working military men with families and goals.

After the first time seeing the tears of Selene, Johan had already started considering them as real humans. It wasn't just a 2D game happening on screen…

These were real people.

"Heh, who cares! Let's escape first, I heard all of the divine generals, even a retired one—Christopher, with Selene and Leor—are hunting for your whereabouts." Kirin said, grabbing Johan's hand for him to see how dire their situation was...

Johan's pupils constricted, nodding instinctively.

"Oh Spirit of Flames, respond to the calling of this Kirin Von Matilda!" Suddenly, Kirin widened her arms, and a massive white cloud of flame appeared out of nowhere.

A small eagle made of dark red and white flames manifested, looking very beautiful.

At Kirin's nod, it instantly increased in size, just enough to fit three people comfortably.

'Using the great spirit of Fire, Agni, as a taxi…' Johan shuddered, remembering the true monstrous form of this creature.

This harmless and classy-looking eagle had the ability to set the world on fire in an inextinguishable blaze, which he did in the later parts, making Leor himself fight him,

And the outcome was Leor losing many people he loved… winning at a very huge cost.

'Great spirits are awesome…' he remembered there are fifteen like this, all world-ending powers, far stronger than current Radhaan, but they're very rare, and their power is constantly suppressed.

They all got on the beautiful fire eagle, Kirin gently patted Sebastian's back, seeing Johan constantly healing him.

'She must be worried too. She is like his daughter… and also a student.' Johan thought solemnly. He had to save Sebastian.

Kirin then started chatting with Sebastian about how the explosion burned the victims' bodies cheerfully, making Sebastian nod like a father who keeps saying to everyone, 'See how talented my child is!'

Making Johan turn off his ears.

Johan suddenly destroyed the mood with a simple question, "How will house matilda when all three of us are gone…" this was a serious problem. Even though house Matilda was full of people, Vessel houses, allies—

Johan understood it, they all are very cynical people who will betray, and backstab at a moment's notice, there were just five people he could trust besides Sebastian and Kirin.

Acier was the most responsible, and skilled one—deffinietly the next head, but even she will be heartbroken by everything, her relationship with Johan, and Kirin was not to be joked with.

Johan's mind flashed back to the day when both Johan, and Acier were peacefully sleeping in their bed, and an assassin came, if, at that day, Acier didn't blocked that knife coming at Johan's throat by shoving her upper body at front—risking a fatal wound, Johan would've died.

Fortunately Johan is an exceptional healer, and Sebastian was nearby.

Everyone quited down, Kirin didn't even try answering as this was something no one could predict.

Kirin layed down on the body of the fire bird to relax her mind and body a bit, placing her bare legs in Sebastian's lap, watching the ground below that looked like an ant colony.

Sebastian also grew sleepy as Johan improved his blood flow with his magic, helping with regeneration of cells.

Time passed as both fell asleep under the watch of Johan.

A sigh escaped his lips. 'With Kirin around, I don't have to worry too much…' Only a few people could match Kirin or Sebastian in strength—now he had both.

Whoosh!

The clouds finally ended, the fire spirit spreading its wings, covering the bright blue sky.

They had finally arrived at the outskirts, hundreds of kilometers away from the capital city.

Fire spirit slowly landed on the ground, lifting her legs from Johan's lap, as Johan woke Sebastian up.

The fire spirit instantly became the size of a normal eagle, then flew straight inside the fullness of Kirin's breast, vanishing inside Kirin.

Their eyes shifted to the wooden board ahead, rustling faintly in the wind.

A single word painted boldly in dark ink:

Vexley.

They had arrived at the town of Vexley. Its atmosphere was serene, peaceful.

"We have to disguise ourselves first," Johan declared, whispering loudly enough for only Kirin and Sebastian to hear.

They both nodded.

The white hair and blue eyes of House Matilda were like screaming their full name in public.

Anyone with even a hint of education had probably seen a portrait of Johan in their history lessons.

And Johan had another task.

He needed to find a secluded place to gamble, now.
