Chapter 67 - Chapter 67: A Lot To Learn

Wanda's POV

That actor… he's so fluid with his words. I hear people calling him Mr. Wayne. Even his name sounds like it came straight out of a movie.

He speaks like every syllable was handpicked by angels, full of charisma, while I, on the other hand, trip over the word 'hello' if I say it too fast. Maybe I should study him secretly. Like, socially spy on him. For purely educational purposes.

And looking around me… wow. There are so many interesting people here. You can almost feel the talent floating in the air.

Hela once told me that true genius often feels like a curse—like a strange itch only they can feel.

She said they suffer in ways that aren't visible. Not from wounds, but from loneliness. Because there's always that line—that line—that separates those who get it from those who… never will.

Hela said this place is full of people like that. Misfits. Geniuses. Both. And she's never wrong.

I started thinking—again—about all those nights in prison, when I used to daydream with my eyes wide open. I wanted freedom.

Not just freedom, but life. Pietro and I, traveling the world, filling our bellies with food that doesn't come in gray packets. Wandering through libraries like tourists. Laughing until our stomachs hurt.

And now? Now I have to add something else to that list: create a paradise. A real one. A place for people like us, who've lost too much. A place everyone would want to stay in, not run away from.

Pietro and I—we made promises in the dark, back when we thought vengeance was the only way to fix things.

We swore we'd tear down every cage. That we'd free everyone. That we'd burn the entire rotten system down to its roots. But… that was on Earth. Here, it's different.

And yet, Hela thinks I have talent. She told me I could learn to travel between worlds—as if it was nothing. 'Just a method,' she said. In the meantime, maybe I should focus on building a home here. For the lost souls. For the quiet ones. For the broken but still breathing.

Just as I was sinking back into all those thoughts, I felt something in the sky, I looked up, and there she was—Jean.

Descending from the sky like one of those angels described in countless books, God's messengers—except she had no wings.

Everyone around me tensed the moment she arrived. I felt it. And it makes sense—Hela used Jean's body when she arrived on Earth. Some people must still flinch remembering, wondering if it's really her or just Hela still pretending.

But Jean was completely unfazed. Cold as marble. If it had been me up there, with all those eyes glued to me, I would've already melted from sheer embarrassment.

She looked around calmly. She even ignored Pietro, who was staring at her like she was an unsolvable puzzle. Poor guy. He probably didn't realize Jean could hear thoughts. Not just his. Mine too? Oh no. Oh no.

Yep. The small smile that cracked her serious face confirmed it. She clearly heard something embarrassing. Argh.

"So? Are you adjusting well to the new environment?" she asked, sweeping her gaze across the group with eyes that seemed to weigh the truth without ever needing to hear it.

Natasha replied first, with her usual confidence. "No problem. It's actually better than I expected."

Well, that's good. They're war comrades, after all. Real ones. That has to count for something. But then there's Mystique, standing there like a shadow, and Magneto, who had just arrived. Those two could literally sell tickets for their awkward silence.

Strangely, Jean—usually so direct and sharp—only gave Natasha a small nod. Nothing more. Huh. Maybe… no. No, Wanda. Don't start building weird theories in your head again. Breathe, just… breathe.

"We ended up sharing the food more easily than expected." I told her without her even asking, like she was my superior, definitely not because I was guilty of something.

She nodded. "I see, you settled that more easily than I thought, that's good."

Then, she looked at Gali and frowned slightly, as if she had felt something. As for Gali, she seemed to care about Jean too, because she also looked at her with somewhat curious eyes.

To be honest, I'm a little curious about Gali too—she said she's not a mutant, but then where do her powers come from? Magic?

Unfortunately, they just looked at each other and said nothing before Jean turned toward most of the group. "Hela said she's going to start merging other dimensions with Hel. New phenomena will appear from time to time, but you don't need to worry."

Um, I didn't know that. After all, Hela left me here to manage things and I had no idea what she was up to, but now I do: merging dimensions. But what is a dimension exactly?

And how is that even possible? Isn't it like saying you'll merge Earth with the planet Mars? But hey, I don't doubt she can do it. She says it like it's nothing, just because she's Hela.

After she finished speaking, most of the people around started murmuring, which doesn't seem strange considering the situation.

Anyway, I feel more at ease now that Jean's here, since she's someone full of knowledge, she knows how to handle the situation. It's so embarrassing for me to be this useless—I have a lot to learn.

END OF THE THE CHAPTER

Honestly it's my fault here and only now did I understand this, I deviated from the main point which is Hela and unconsciously make her like a supporting character by reducing her screen time so this chapter is short because I don't want the abrupt POV change but the next few chapters should be her Pov, sorry.
