I walked straight out of the mansion, my footsteps echoing faintly against the polished stone steps, and made my way toward the sleek black Mercedes already parked and waiting at the entrance.
The driver opened the door for me, and the moment I slipped inside, my chest tightened, and my heart skipped a beat.
Alfie was there.
Seated with his broad frame relaxed yet commanding, his presence filled the car in a way that instantly made me uneasy.
I blinked rapidly, caught off guard, and my brows furrowed in confusion. "What are you doing here?" I asked sharply, my voice edged with surprise as I lifted an eyebrow. My eyes narrowed on him, scanning his face. "And where are the other Alphas?"
"They've gone to work," Alfie replied smoothly, his tone calm and steady. "Even your doctor had to leave. Something about checking on his sister came up."
