His eyes met mine earnestly. "And hey, I'm Silas to you not some 'powerful Alpha.' I'd really like to have someone who doesn't treat me differently just because of my title or my family. I want someone who's not afraid of me, who doesn't pretend with fake affection or forced respect out of fear. Just someone who sees me… as me. A friend, at the very least."
My heart melted just a bit. That… that was surprisingly touching.
"Awwwwn," I whispered with a soft smile. "That actually sounds really good, Silas."
Honestly, I didn't have any issues with him. He seemed genuine, kind, and easy to be around. Yeah… I could definitely be a friend to Silas. Being open and comfortable with him wouldn't hurt me. In fact, it might help.
"Fine then, Silas," I said, letting out a sigh of relief. "Thanks for making me your friend. Can I send you a recording of your childhood song though?"
