The words barely left Zarvok's lips when something 'else' answered.
A presence—vast, ancient, suffocating—uncoiled inside his mind.
'So… you finally learned the truth of your lineage, Zarvok,'
a voice thundered within his skull.
'And the prophecy as well. How amusing.'
Zarvok's pupils shrank.
"…Tiamat…"
Laughter echoed through his consciousness.
'You were never meant to rule,' the Dragon God whispered.
'You were born as my slave and you will die as one too.'
A burning pressure spread through Zarvok's veins. Black-gold runes crawled across his shattered scales. His muscles twitched against his will.
'KILL HIM,' the voice commanded.
'KILL ALEX OR DIE TRYING.'
Zarvok screamed.
"NO—!"
His battered body rose—
'not by his will.'
The sky split.
A colossal portal tore open above the ruins, bleeding draconic light. One by one, massive silhouettes emerged—ancient dragons in their true forms, wings blotting out the Skies.
