Chapter 219 - Chapter 219: I Want the Tremor-Tremor Fruit Too!

Chapter 219: I Want the Tremor-Tremor Fruit Too!

First came Blackbeard, then Crocodile.

The re-entry of the Impel Down escapees added a bit more excitement to this war that was nearing its end.

The gazes of the entire Oris Plaza were focused on those few figures.

The Marines, holding swords and guns, surrounded them, waiting in formation with bated breath.

"What on earth is going on with these people..."

Gulp.

A Marine swallowed, his hands gripping his sword hilt trembling slightly, his gaze wavering.

One major event after another had made many people feel lost about the direction of this war.

Only one person, however, seized the opportunity to erupt!

Scalding magma burst forth without mercy, transforming into a vicious dog's head and attacking Whitebeard from behind!

"Meigo!"

Under the brim of Sakazuki's cap, his gloomy face flashed with a vicious light. There's no need to speak of honor with pirates!

Faced with this sudden attack, Whitebeard reacted and turned around.

He raised his fist, enveloped in the power of tremors, but his wounds were aggravated again!

Whitebeard's pupils constricted. Intense pain shot through his heart, making it difficult to breathe. His whole body went numb as if he had lost control.

"Die, Whitebeard!"

Bang!!

Akainu roared angrily. The scorching magma, however, was like a cold, merciless scythe of death. A punch from bottom to top pierced through the other's chest!

"Puwaah!"

Whitebeard's eyes bulged as he spat out a mouthful of blood. He reached out, grabbed Akainu's shoulder, and swung Murakumogiri.

Akainu retreated, and his slash missed, causing him to stumble.

Thump!

Whitebeard stomped his long naginata on the ground to steady himself. He looked down at his chest, which was riddled with holes, a trace of desolation in his expression.

He could feel his heart gradually being burned to ashes. The fiery, scorching pain made even breathing difficult.

This instantaneous development drew the attention of the entire field.

Looking up, Whitebeard revealed a mocking sneer, forcing words out from his hoarse throat.

"It's not you, Teach..."

"...The man Roger is waiting for, at least, it won't be you."

"You old fool, what do you mean?" Blackbeard cast a venomous gaze over.

Whitebeard struggled to straighten his body. Thick blood welled up from his chest.

It stained his loose yellow pants red, pooling at his feet.

Drip!

Drip!

The blood continued to drip, like a clock starting the countdown on his life.

He tilted his head back and looked at the sky.

"Hahaha, I'm about to die, Whitebeard!"

It was an arrogant, untamed face. He raised his cup for a hearty drink and then asked him with a smile, "How about I tell you where Laugh Tale is!"

"Not interested. Even if I knew, I wouldn't go."

During the season when the cherry blossoms were in full bloom, he and Roger sat under a cherry tree, drinking together.

That was their last conversation.

It's already been over twenty years.

Whitebeard's eyelids slowly drooped. What is the Will of D?

He didn't know, nor was he interested.

"The one who will bear the river of history and challenge the world will eventually appear."

His gaze gradually dimmed. The aura on his body also vanished at this moment, leaving only a final murmured whisper.

"But it will definitely not be you, Teach."

The entire battlefield fell silent. Everyone watched that tall and straight figure.

Waiting for him to fall, afraid that he would suddenly move.

There were no heroic words, nor did he pull the Great Pirate Era to a climax before the eyes of the world.

A sudden attack had extinguished the last breath of the dying Whitebeard.

Year 1520 of the Sea Circle Calendar.

Whitebeard, Edward Newgate, died in battle at Marineford.

Until the very last moment, his figure still stood tall and straight in the center of Oris Plaza.

It's over...

Reiner looked towards the outside of the bay. Luffy and the others had already broken through the encirclement of warships.

Perhaps they didn't see this scene.

All the pirates were shocked by Whitebeard's death while standing.

Sengoku turned his head to look at Teach, and found that the other was staring intently at Whitebeard.

The matter of stealing Devil Fruit abilities seemed to be confirmed.

I must not let him succeed!

Sengoku shouted an order, "All forces, surround and kill the Blackbeard Pirates! The enemy is trying to take Whitebeard's ability! Do not let them get close!"

"Take his ability?"

"What kind of technique is that?"

"Sounds terrifying."

Garp, Aokiji, and Kizaru all stepped forward. Although they were somewhat confused, it didn't matter.

The things the Blackbeard Pirates had done were enough for them to ignore his Warlord status and annihilate him.

"Compared to them, don't forget there's another target. Ace hasn't gotten far! I'll go after them!" Akainu said in a low voice, and charged towards the bay on his own.

Seeing Akainu move, a strange glint flashed in the usually lazy Kizaru's eyes, and he suddenly became energetic and followed.

"You're a bit at risk on your own, Sakazuki. Let this old man help you."

The remaining Marines all faced off against the Blackbeard Pirates.

Looking at Sengoku, Garp, and Aokiji before him, the venom in Teach's eyes was almost tangible.

"Damn it!"

Even if the three Admirals split up to pursue Ace, the Marines would definitely leave enough forces to stop him.

It was already hopeless to obtain the Gura Gura no Mi.

Blackbeard couldn't help but look at Sengoku with resentment. Compared to taking the ability, he should be thinking more about how to escape now.

Reiner ignored the confrontation between the two sides. With Akainu and Kizaru giving chase, he had to recall his undead quickly.

Sukuna floated into the air and flew towards Mihawk, who was watching the fun from a distance. He took off the sword from his waist and threw it down.

Thud!

"What's the meaning of this?"

Casually catching the black blade Shusui, Mihawk glanced at the other coldly.

Sukuna spoke faintly, "Zoro's sword broke. Help me bring this to him."

"Roronoa?" Hearing this, the confusion in Mihawk's eyes deepened.

He remembered their encounter at the sea restaurant vividly and had a good appreciation for Zoro. He didn't mind helping with a small favor.

But what did he mean by "bring it to him"?

To this, Sukuna just said teasingly, "You'll know when you get home."

As his voice fell, his figure dematerialized and vanished in mid-air.

Mihawk was silent, but he still accepted the sword.

A large expanse of darkness spread across the entire plaza. The Blackbeard Pirates and the Marines had started to fight.

Mihawk turned and left, no longer interested in anything that happened next.

The Warlord summons was only to fight the Whitebeard Pirates.

If he hadn't wanted to witness the result with his own eyes, he might not have even come here. He was even less interested in Blackbeard.

A thick black smoke rolled up into the sky, and a large number of Marine soldiers, rocks, and other miscellaneous things were spat out by the darkness.

"Liberation!"

Blackbeard released the countless remnants he had absorbed towards his surroundings, while at the same time turning his head to look at Reiner, who was still on the field.

"Hey, Black Snake!"

"We're grasshoppers on the same rope now! How about we put aside our grudges and team up for now? Without us, it won't be easy for you to escape either!" Blackbeard shouted.

He was just thinking if he could use Reiner to attract the Marines' firepower. The moment he found a chance, he would immediately abandon the other and escape.

Even now, he still didn't know who had tricked them into this situation.

Reiner suddenly became interested again. He was already thinking about how to infiltrate Blackbeard's camp and then backstab him.

But before he could speak, Sengoku spoke first, "How could he possibly cooperate with you? Teach, he was the one who told me about your ability to steal others' powers."

"What!"

Blackbeard was shocked and whipped his head to look at Reiner, the anger in his eyes self-evident.

No wonder he was targeted by the Marines the moment he appeared, and they directly intercepted him from taking Pops's ability.

So it was this guy pulling the strings!

"Tch," Reiner scoffed at Sengoku.

As expected, this old dog still wanted to backstab him. He had just started fighting and was already trying to stir up trouble between him and Blackbeard. He couldn't help but curse under his breath.

"You dirty thing. I knew you were up to no good."

"Likewise," Sengoku's voice was low.

"And the ones who attacked you just now..."

He looked at the War Ogre, Gun Devil, and the others, a sharp glint in his eyes. "Those guys are also undead controlled by Black Snake Reiner. He'd love nothing more than for you to die."

As his voice fell, besides Blackbeard, the others also cast their gazes towards him.

"What! Undead!?"

"Isn't that something from storybooks?"

"These guys are all controlled by him?"

Aokiji couldn't help but think of the various unexpected situations that had occurred on the battlefield today. He hadn't seen the other use this kind of method at Enies Lobby.

He only knew that the other had a large snake coiled around his back, sometimes breathing fire, sometimes releasing lightning. He had thought it was some kind of Paramecia ability or a modified weapon.

Sengoku's mind was deep. It wasn't just about the current battle; he was also thinking about the more distant future.

The war with the Whitebeard Pirates had resulted in countless casualties on both sides.

The goal of this war had already been achieved. If the price of taking down the Blackbeard crew was too high, he might not choose to fight them to the death.

He was about to step down. Whether the new Fleet Admiral was Aokiji, whom he wanted to support, or Akainu, who had a higher voice among the top brass, he couldn't leave a pile of messes for them.

Blackbeard was naturally worth being wary of, and he also attached the same importance to the Straw Hat crew, especially Reiner!

This man was too dangerous!

Paying a huge price to take down one of them was not necessarily more cost-effective than inciting hatred between two pirate crews and letting them check and balance each other.

The losses in this war were already huge. Later, a large number of troops would be needed to lay out the second half of the Grand Line.

Breaking the stalemate of the Four Emperors and allowing the Marines to take the opportunity to insert themselves into the New World was the purpose of going to war with the Whitebeard Pirates.

What was the point if all the men were dead? Was the Navy going to rely on a few Admirals to run around putting out fires at sea?

Sengoku, unlike others, didn't lose his head in the heat of battle. He was calm from beginning to end.

One was lazy, the other was extreme. He was about to retire, yet he, an old man, had to put in all his effort.

The only smart one, Kizaru, had that lazy and sloppy look all day.

Sengoku couldn't help but sigh inwardly. This batch of Admirals was really a headache.

He suddenly understood a little why Garp complained all day about his grandson becoming a pirate. His gaze couldn't help but shift to Reiner, and he thought of Ben Beckman on the Red-Haired crew.

Strength, strategy, a calm and unhurried demeanor... the more I look, the more I like. But damn it, they're all pirates.

Rumble!!

Suddenly, the earth shook violently, and the entire Marineford trembled intensely.

The earth rose up like a carpet, forming ripples. A giant face condensed in the center of the island, with two horns on its head and two long, thin whiskers. It opened its mouth and emitted a loud voice:

"You bastard Marines! I don't want to go back to Impel Down! All of you, go to hell!"

Two giant arms transformed out, their palms open as they slapped down, blotting out the sun.

Garp grinned, pushed off the ground, and leaped up towards the giant palm descending from the sky.

While everyone's attention was drawn to the sky, a falcon, taking advantage of the lack of attention, grabbed a standing corpse from the plaza and flew away.

Blackbeard wants to take the Gura Gura no Mi? Don't I want it too?

A corner of Reiner's mouth lifted in a smug smile. Just fight slowly. It's best if you can kill a few members of the Blackbeard Pirates.

I'll give them a big gift before I leave.
