Chapter 55 - THE TRAINING OF DUALITY

The observation room was silent. Behind the thick glass, doctors, scientists, and specialists stood frozen, their eyes locked on the screen in front of them.

Two heart rates. Two brainwave patterns. One body.

The data didn't lie.

Dr. Aryan, the lead neuroscientist, wiped sweat from his forehead. His voice was calm, but the fear underneath was undeniable.

"This… this shouldn't be possible."

One of the junior scientists whispered, "It's like… two people are living inside him."

Faisal stood at the back of the room, arms crossed, jaw clenched.

"He's not two people."

Everyone turned toward him.

"He's one man — with two souls."

Mirshad sat on the steel floor, his hands resting on his knees. His breathing was slow, controlled — but only because he was fighting. Fighting himself.

"You're too slow."

MRD's voice echoed in his mind, cold, sharp.

"Your reaction time is garbage. You think the world will wait for you to decide if you're ready?"

Mirshad gritted his teeth.

"I'm not a killer."

MRD's laugh was soft, mocking.

"You think that's your choice? You already killed, Mirshad. The moment you stepped between Baba and those men — you made your decision."

Mirshad's fists clenched, but his hands shook.

"You think you can fight them with kindness? With hope?"

MRD's voice grew louder, filling every corner of Mirshad's mind.

"You fight with fear. You fight with pain. You fight with me."

The chamber's walls shifted, panels opening to reveal mechanical arms armed with stun batons.

The voice of Dr. Aryan echoed through the speakers.

"Subject ready. Begin Reaction Test."

The arms moved — fast, unpredictable, striking at Mirshad from every angle.

Mirshad dodged one, blocked another — but the third hit him across the shoulder, sending volts of electricity searing through his body.

He stumbled — but then something changed.

His posture shifted. His breathing slowed.

His left eye flickered red for a split second.

The next strike came — and Mirshad didn't just block it. He caught the baton mid-air, twisting it until the metal groaned, snapping it in two.

The scientists froze.

That wasn't Mirshad.

That was MRD.

The system recalibrated — increasing speed, doubling the number of arms.

But it didn't matter.

MRD had taken the wheel.

The air seemed to ripple around Mirshad's body, his movements so fast they blurred. Each strike was not just blocked, but redirected — turning the mechanical arms into weapons against themselves.

Metal shattered. Sparks rained down.

In less than thirty seconds, every arm lay in pieces at Mirshad's feet.

He stood still, chest rising and falling with perfect control.

The red flicker in his eye faded — and just like that, Mirshad collapsed to his knees, gasping for air.

The chamber was silent again.

But the scientists knew — they hadn't witnessed training.

They had witnessed the birth of something no science could explain.

Back in the observation room, the debate erupted.

"This isn't training anymore."

"We're not teaching him — we're unleashing him."

"Is MRD… separate? Or is he just… Mirshad's survival instinct?"

Faisal slammed his hand against the table, silencing them all.

"You're all missing the point."

His voice was cold, controlled — the voice of a man who had already made peace with the monster they were creating.

"It doesn't matter what MRD is."

He stepped toward the glass, watching Mirshad struggle to catch his breath.

"What matters is if Mirshad can control him — or if MRD will control Mirshad."

Inside Mirshad's mind, the chamber was gone — replaced by endless darkness.

Mirshad stood alone — except he wasn't.

MRD stood across from him, arms crossed.

"You can't fight me, Mirshad. You need me."

Mirshad's voice was soft but steady.

"I'll never let you hurt innocent people."

MRD's smile was sharp.

"Fair deal."

He extended his hand.

"We can't escape each other. So let's make a deal — you protect the innocent, I destroy the enemies."

Mirshad hesitated.

MRD's voice softened, just for a second.

"Together, we can protect everyone we care about. But apart… we're nothing."

With a trembling hand, Mirshad took MRD's.

The deal was made.

The boy and the monster — no longer enemies.

But not yet friends.

Just two souls sharing one destiny.
