Chapter 30 - Chapter 30: Immortal Human!!

Location: Star Palace

Feldway POV

Why did Boss Veldanava feel the need to whisper in my ear in front of everyone? He could've just used thought communication like he normally does. But no—now everyone thinks I know something. Which... I kinda do.

Anyway, the story I told him back during my training days... something call Adam and Eve. God made a man and woman, they did the whole reproduction bit—yada yada—and bam, humanity.

Funny how I remember that dumb story, but not my own parents.

Weird, sure.

But honestly? I don't really care anymore. My job now is to serve Boss Veldanava—nothing less, nothing more.

"Alright, you can come in," said Boss Veldanava.

I slowly turned toward the door as it creaked open. From the shadows of the hallway stepped a man in a black cloak. His right eye was blue, the left red—heterochromia, a rare genetic trait back in my past life if I recall correctly.

But more striking than that... was his silver hair.

I kept staring at the open door. Zalario, seated beside me, noticed and asked, "What are you expecting, Commander?"

Without answering, I opened a [thought communication] channel with Veldanava.

'Where is it?' I asked.

'Where's what?'

'The female version of that Twilight guy—you know, the one he's supposed to do the reproductive stuff with to make humanity.'

'And here I thought you, of all people, weren't into that kind of talk,' Veldanava replied. I could practically hear the smirk in his voice. 'First thing out of your mouth is about reproduction? Who knew my right hand had such… curiosity.'

I rolled my eyes but didn't respond.

He chuckled. "Anyway, he doesn't have reproductive organs like humans. He's not even human, y'know."

I smacked my forehead, earning a confused look from Zalario beside me.

"Wait… then what is he?"

A vampire. More specifically, a high-blood, Veldanava replied casually.

I had never been so "amazed" by anything in my life.

There is a concept called sarcasm, Michael... Anyway…

"How is a vampire—who literally needs human blood—supposed to help create humanity, Boss?"

"I don't need humans with short, fragile lives…" he said, in a tone I hadn't heard since the Ice Catastrophe.

"What…?"

"Anyway, moving on," he added, cutting the [thought communication] connection.

"His name is Twil—" Veldanava began, but the silver-haired man raised a hand to interrupt.

"My name is Twilight Valentine. Pleasure to meet you, beings born from light."

Veldanava sighed.

Everyone else in the room looked visibly annoyed. I would've been too, but I was still scratching my temple, stuck on the part where Boss said he didn't want short-lived humans.

"Kuahahaha! You're funny. Twilight, take a seat at the end of the table," Veldanava said, pointing.

Twilight shrugged and sat beside Garasha, who was barely holding back from incinerating him on the spot.

Once everyone was seated, Veldanava stood and declared, "I plan to populate the Cardinal World with spirit-bearing human flesh—immortal bodies that never age!"

"…What?!" was all I could say.

No kidding.
