Chapter 152 - Chapter 151

August 14, 2004 – 16:30

Frank parked in front of his aunt's apartment, behind his sister's car. Jeremie was with him.

"I think I have an aunt who lives in this area. Heard her name mentioned a few times, but never met her."

Frank looked at him as he pulled his key out of the ignition.

"Maybe you can look her up?"

"I tried once, but her name was so common, that I found over 20 people with the same name, not counting those listed with an initial as their first name. None lived in this area. If she knows I exist, she can look me up."

Frank saw Louis parking across the street as he climbed out of the car and waited for him and Linda before heading toward Lizzy's door.

"I'm guessing that Coralis will join us later?" said Louis after Frank introduced Jeremie to him and Linda.

"She is on her way here with Sebastian. They should arrive in about an hour."

"These two can't catch a break," said Linda as Lizzy opened the door.

"You'd think Blue would have a clear schedule after ditching her two jobs, but no, she's still all over the place," said Frank after Louis closed the door behind them.

Frank introduced Jeremie to the rest of his family while handing Audrey's birthday gift to Lizzy.

"Have you heard about that documentary about mythological beings that came out today from Ireland?" said Molly.

"Oh yeah, I heard of it! I wanted to talk about it to Coralis and Sebastian. Audrey, did you hear about it? Do you think it would help your people in this senseless war against them?" said Linda.

"I don't know, and honestly, I don't think so. Most people either still don't believe we exist or figured we aren't as evil as global governments are making us out to be. It's not the population that wants us dead, but traitors among us."

"I saw the interview with Robert Paul King, but I couldn't find where the documentary was available to watch. I'm curious about it. I think it's a good thing if people start realizing there is a difference between a witch and a mage, and that even fays were listed as witches in their government lists, but Audrey is right. It's not even the general population that wants them dead," said Stephanie.

"My boss called me today, I'm supposed to interview King next week. The documentary isn't available here yet, I think it'll be released in 2 weeks. They will receive a copy of it this week and I am to watch it before interviewing the guy. I'm intrigued and hope it will help them, but I don't know yet."

"Let me know what you think after watching it. If it's accurate, I will promote it to my friends," said Linda.

"I have to say this. It feels great beyond words to meet a family where I can openly talk about my world and what we are. A lot of people fail to realize that if were a danger to them, the human population would probably be nearly extinct," said Jeremie.

"Yeah, that's what I keep saying to people. The danger is real, but governments are targeting the wrong ones," said Stephanie.

Less than an hour later, while they all sat in the living room, discussing the situation, Coralis and Sebastian rang the doorbell.

"Here you are! At this rate, they'll wear you out dead before they get to you!" said Lizzy as she let them it.

"It's not too bad, we've been helping packs with wards today. Easy work," said Coralis.

"Saguenay today, then where at? You've got a lineup of packs wanting wards from you," said Stephanie.

"Was about to ask how retirement is treating you, but it doesn't look like you are!" said Louis while Lizzy called for pizzas.

"Flyball retirement doesn't feel reel yet," said Sebastian while grabbing a glass of wine from Molly. "We would normally be starting our first practice of the season this week, but with how the CMMA has been keeping me busy, I probably won't be feeling it until the season starts and see the games from our monitors."

"And that is if we're ever home to watch them," said Coralis.

"There is a documentary that everyone talks about, but it's not released yet around here. It's called The Ultimate Truth Behind Mythology. Did you hear about it?" said Linda.

"Yes, and the guy who made it is a fool. The pack we were at today kept talking about it, so I asked Gus to look it up. He sent me a copy through my hologram and we watched it there. It's going to make it worse for us," said Coralis.

Everyone looked at them, not knowing what to say. Coralis pulled her hologram out while mind-linking Audrey to get her monitor.

"There is a holographic version of it? Or is it me who isn't fully knowledgeable of your technology yet?" said Lizzy.

"How is it going to make it worse? Wouldn't it be a good thing if people could see for themselves that they are being told lies?" said Frank.

Audrey ran back to the living room from her room and gave Coralis her monitor, which she set on the living room table.

"There is no holographic copy, but Gus converted it into a holographic version just so he could send it to me. You'll see, it's like watching a movie on a floating screen, without any 3D effects," said Coralis as she pushed the video file on Audrey's holographic monitor.

"Whoever made it doesn't know what he is talking about for the most part. He dug up old scrolls and deciphered scriptures that were thought to be lost but we can tell he never spoke to any of us. The only factual statement he made is the distinction between a witch and an elemental being, but even as he tried to explain the different types of elementals, he wasn't entirely correct," said Sebastian.

"I'm supposed to watch it this week because my boss wants me to interview Robert Paul King, who made it. Are you telling me I will have a problem with him?" said Frank.

"You know a lot more about us than this guy does, hearing him talk is going to piss you off, most likely," said Coralis, glancing at him as the documentary started. "However, please, do not correct him, because then he will either ask you how you know so much about the topic or call you a heretic or something like that."

"How is it going to make the current situation worse?" said Raymond while staring at the documentary.

"It will create a generation of people that will hunt us down for sport. Not only do we now need to worry about trophy hunters, but we also need to worry about those who will seek to capture us to study us like lab rats. One of our friends at the CMMA, Eva, is seeing a human. His family are hunters, not the ethical type. Can you imagine if they ever find out what she is?" said Coralis.

Lizzy hugged her daughter tight.

"People now think we're demi-gods but we're not. Sure, we're part of the mythological world, but not in the sense that this guy is trying to explain. Like humans, we were born on earth and are the descendants of the gods's creations. We just have different gods, for the most part," said Sebastian.

"Some of the creatures he is talking about haven't been seen on earth for millenniums," said Coralis while the pizzas arrived.

Coralis paused the movie before Lizzy opened the door. They all stopped talking.

"Then people will start asking why you all have powers and they don't," said Louis as the entry door closed again.

"The answer to this is way above my pay grade," said Coralis.

A few hours later, she received a phone call from her MI6 contact.

"I must go to Brazil to check about a potential coven of demon-summoning witches."
