When the light faded—
A figure far more dazzling and stylish than before stood proudly at the center of the stage, capturing the attention of all!
"There it is—A Super Evolution! Praised by experts as the key to a new era!"
"This is the Super Evolution known as Bond Evolution! I'm satisfied now!"
"It's just too cool… If I had a Pokémon like that in my life, I'd die with no regrets…"
…
Amid the deafening cheers from the audience, which sounded like crashing waves, Nathan remained perfectly calm as he stared at the Magmortar.
Weakness… where is its weakness?
Although it couldn't move, the Magmortar on the battlefield was even more annoying than a tank!
"Zeraora, Indra's Arrow!"
Seizing an opening, Nathan's eyes lit up as he gave the command.
And it wasn't just a metaphor—his eyes literally sparkled.
Nathan had already entered synchronization mode, and his eyes had turned into radiant golden orbs. If it were nighttime, they would probably be dazzlingly conspicuous.
"Zoar!"
Upon hearing its trainer's command, Zeraora instantly leapt into the air. While dodging Magmortar's attacks, it began to conjure a thunderbolt bow on its forearm.
Although it hadn't yet learned Thunderbolt, the move Discharge empowered the attack greatly.
Indra's Arrow was far more devastating than Chidori!
Unfortunately, Nathan's "Third Raikage Plan" had gone up in smoke.
Moves like Hell Stab, the "Strongest Spear," or "Strongest Shield" were no longer realistic.
But even so, Zeraora had become the Blue Flash.
Watching the gleaming thunder arrow streak across the sky, even Jenny couldn't help but change expressions.
"Magmortar, get out of the lava zone now!"
"Is that guy seriously trying to destroy the entire lava pool?!"
Clenching her fists, Jenny glared at Zeraora with venom in her eyes—completely unladylike.
Still, it was understandable.
Jenny probably had never been pushed into such a miserable state until now!
"Magmortar, fight back! Crush that Zeraora!"
Seeing Magmortar leap from the lava pool with molten magma clinging to its body, Jenny issued another command.
Unwillingness—an overwhelming sense of it—filled her heart.
In response, Magmortar unleashed its strongest Fire Blast!
The iconic flaming symbol seemed to be made of magma rather than fire this time!
"Pierce through it, Zeraora!"
Seeing the counterattack, Nathan gave the order without hesitation.
He had complete confidence in his Pokémon!
"Zoar!!"
Zeraora responded to Nathan's call, and Indra's Arrow, blazing with unmatched thunderlight, shot toward Magmortar!
Molten flames and the thunderous arrow collided in an instant—
Like the most dazzling firework display in the world!
But the shocking part?
Indra's Arrow burst through the explosion and continued straight ahead!
Magmortar didn't even have time to dodge—it was struck directly.
Its entire body was charred black.
"Return, Magmortar!"
Jenny recalled her defeated Pokémon into its Poké Ball.
Her expression was gloomy. Even Nathan couldn't see clearly what kind of look she had in her eyes.
"That's it? As a Trainer, is that all you've got? Honestly, you're worse than that top-eight guy from your regional tournament. What a disappointment!"
Nathan didn't care what sort of reasons she might have. Seeing Jenny like this, he spoke mercilessly.
He and his Pokémon had only just gotten fired up and started enjoying the battle.
And now this?
It was like getting hyped for a party and ending up in a police station!
"Thunderflame Saint… Did no one ever tell you? You're a really annoying brat!!"
Jenny let out a low, dangerous laugh before hurling another Poké Ball and shouting angrily.
Her temper was already bad to begin with, and this was the first time she'd ever met a guy like this!
No gentlemanly manners—fine. But not even the slightest bit of kindness or sympathy?
It made her question whether this guy was even human!
In response, Nathan scratched his head and shrugged. "Well, ever since I left school, I've kinda let myself go."
After all, Nathan was a transmigrator.
Although he kept a low profile for over a decade at school due to his "no strength, don't act recklessly" rule…
Now that he had power, showing off a little was only human nature, right?
He had plenty of other bad habits too—
Like being repetitive, lazy, or overly envious…
But upon seeing Jenny's next Pokémon, Nathan's expression turned serious.
A seriousness tinged with admiration.
Following Magmortar, Jenny sent out another equally powerful Pokémon—
Its name: Arcanine!
Even in this world, Arcanine was one of the most beloved Pokémon—no contest.
Loyal, majestic, powerful!
These three qualities alone made Arcanine a dream Pokémon for almost every Trainer.
In the wild, Arcanine was practically a Trainer's second life insurance policy!
But what really caught Nathan's attention wasn't the species—it was how well this particular Arcanine had been raised.
Its fur was a fiery red, and though it wasn't especially large, it had a streamlined, athletic build.
Even though it had only just entered the field, flames were already flaring up across its body.
It looked both fierce and stunning!
Even if it couldn't quite compare to Zeraora in its Bond Evolution form, it was still remarkably handsome—especially by the absurdly attractive standards of this world's Pokémon.
"This Arcanine… must've taken a ton of resources to raise, huh?"
After observing it for a while, Nathan narrowed his eyes and asked softly.
"Huh?"
Jenny froze for a second, unsure why Nathan was suddenly asking questions at a time like this.
According to earlier reports, Bond Evolution had a time limit.
And once Nathan's eyes changed color, it would rapidly drain his stamina.
But since the enemy was being "dumb," Jenny saw no reason to help.
With a smug smile tugging at her lips, she proudly declared, "This one's my greatest masterpiece!"
"Even though it hasn't been with me for long, its potential and the resources I poured into it are absolutely top-tier!"
"Even if your Zeraora can Super Evolve, after defeating Magmortar, it's definitely not beating my Arcanine!"
Truth be told, Jenny looked quite adorable in that moment.
Though she was older than Nathan, she had a petite figure.
With striking features and flawless skin—probably inherited from her extremely attractive parents—she was objectively beautiful.
Unfortunately, Nathan didn't spare her a second glance and just kept his eyes on the Arcanine.
"To think it was raised this well without Pokéblocks… I really can't underestimate this world."
Studying Arcanine's coat carefully, Nathan muttered to himself.
Ever since he began researching Pokéblocks, he'd picked up some Breeder habits.
It was a shame that the profession of Pokémon Breeder didn't exist in this world.
Instead, there was a high-end occupation called "Nutritionist."
Although the results weren't as effective, the profession was prestigious—and very expensive.
(TN: Wtf, what about the junior breeder and advanced breeder the author talk about in the early chapters. I probably mistranslate it again damn it.)
…
"Hey! Are you even listening to me?!"
Seeing Nathan completely ignoring her, Jenny's face flushed with anger as she pointed and shouted at him.
As a girl praised as a genius from a young age, she had never suffered such humiliation before!
Being beaten twice in a row by a younger, obnoxious boy was bad enough—and now he was ignoring her?!
"Ahem… Sorry, sorry. Let's continue the battle! Zeraora— Lightning Release Mode — Thunder Beast Battle Form!"
Pressing his hand down, Nathan suddenly changed expressions like a face-changing opera performer, becoming completely serious.
Zeraora was instantly cloaked in blue-white electric energy.
Perhaps due to its natural fur color, two streaks of golden lightning energy shimmered on its back—
Almost like they were real.
Seeing this transformation, Jenny's face turned pitch-black.
"Knew it! He was ignoring me! You annoying little brat!"
Muttering darkly under her breath, she suddenly shouted to her Pokémon, "Arcanine, use Flare Blitz!"
In a flash, Arcanine became engulfed in flames and charged straight at Zeraora!
If Indra's Arrow was the arrow of thunder…
Then this Arcanine—without a doubt—was the arrow of fire!
"Got mad, huh?"
Realizing this, Nathan showed no particular reaction and calmly commanded:
"Zeraora— Thunderbolt Flash!"
Since the opponent had chosen to attack, Nathan wasn't the type to run.
Zeraora let out an excited growl, as electric energy shaped into a spear-sword on its right paw!
The next second—
(End of Chapter)
(TN: Man, I'm so bummed out about that breeder thing, probably won't be able to change the past chapters as I don't which chapters it was anymore and I don't really expect that there are no breeder profession as the raw never said it until now.)
