Kai immediately responded, "Of course we handled it! After the drone got taken down, I had some guys from the local road bureau go over under the pretense of a land survey. We filed a complaint against the old man for deliberately damaging public property and obstructing official terrain research. The original plan was to have him detained for a few days… but damn, that old guy ran faster than anyone I've ever seen. We couldn't catch him!"

Veil stared at Kai in disbelief, genuinely impressed. It was starting to feel like everything he knew, Kai had somehow absorbed just by osmosis.
At this rate, was he accidentally raising a future villain?
"Nice work. Just pin down his general activity range — all I need is a photo of him."
Veil reached into his coat — or rather, accessed it from the system's inventory — and pulled out a pill, tossing it over to Kai.
