*Note: I owe you an apology for yesterday so forgive me, but... Why didn't upload the chapter? Well, the reason is more stupid and simple that you think and I'll tell you: I was playing Pokémon Legends Z-A, doing a shiny hunt when suddenly a lot of ideas for my Pokémon fic came to my minf so I write a whole chapter but when I realize, it was so late and I was so tired that I went to bed. This won't happen again.
Well, for those who read my Pokémon fic, I won't do another remake or something like this, the story will continue at the same point that I paused, but I won't publish it until I wrote a few chapters because I'm run out of them so you'll have to wait and for those who are only reading this fic... ignore this, the schedule will be the same until I finish it and that will be in a lot of time, I have a lot of heroines ahead so the end is very far.
One thing more, if you want an image of your favourite waifu or waifus ( two at most), you can say me in the comments. I can do even yuri ones, but no men thanks, only waifus.
Have a good day :)
...
Night was beginning to fall, and the streetlights were already turning on. People were heading back home, ready to enjoy what little remained of the day. Some were returning from work, others from school, while a few had the day off—but gradually, the once-bustling street grew quieter and emptier.
Near Kari's house, there was a large park where dozens of people walked during the day, but now it was extremely peaceful, with only a handful of people wandering about.
There, our heroes sat on one of the benches. Sufurtia was seated at one end, while Akira and Kari (who sat beside him) occupied the other. This arrangement was at Akira's request—he still didn't fully trust Sufurtia's intentions, and keeping his distance would give him time to react if something happened. The Omnitrix glowed green on Akira's left wrist, ready to transform its wearer at any moment…
"I'm listening," I said once we were seated.
We were on the small bench Kari had mentioned, specifically on the far end of the park where few people passed by. Most of them were walking their pets or staring at their smartphones.
"Lord Akira… I beg you, please take me to Lady Mikado. It's urgent!" Sufurtia exclaimed.
"I don't know why you're so worked up, but if you don't explain things from the beginning, how do you expect me to help you?" I asked curiously.
I didn't even know what he wanted, and he was already asking for help. Isn't it normal to at least tell the other person what the problem is first?
Hearing this, Sufurtia calmed down and nodded. He realized I was right—he hadn't yet explained his situation. How could I possibly know what kind of help he needed?
"All right. I'll give you a brief summary…" said Sufurtia.
Then he began telling me his story. Apparently, Sufurtia was the ruler of a prosperous planet—a beloved governor and, according to him, a great person. Everything was going well: his planet thrived, his people lived in peace, and thanks to the king, no other race in the galaxy dared threaten them. But all good things eventually come to an end, and for Sufurtia, this was no exception.
Sufurtia had two wives, but only one child, born from the first. The second was completely sterile, unable to bear children. Unlike most nobles, however, Sufurtia never abandoned her; instead, he continued to cherish her as if nothing were wrong.
And not everything was bleak. When his son was born, the second wife began to care for him as if he were her own, and the boy's biological mother didn't seem to mind at all. Everything was harmonious—Sufurtia handled matters of governance, sometimes playing with his son, while his wives lovingly raised and spoiled the boy. But, as I said, all beautiful things come to an end. When the child turned fourteen, he suddenly fell ill with Eclert—a disease even worse than cancer (which had long been completely cured, regardless of type or severity). Not only did tumors appear throughout the body and internal organs, but it also caused complete degeneration of all systems, leading to death while the patient endured excruciating pain.
So far, this disease remained incurable even with the most advanced technology in the galaxy—far beyond human capabilities. The most potent medicine available could only slow organ degeneration, and the strongest anesthesia could dull at most half of the pain. That's why this disease was so feared throughout the stars.
Eclert wasn't contagious and only affected those with Esclertic ancestry, as it originated from the planet Escleria, home of the Esclertic race. But if it wasn't contagious… how did it spread across the galaxy? The answer was simple: crossbreeding. While the disease couldn't be transmitted directly, offspring of mixed species inherited fragments of Esclertic DNA, making them susceptible. It turned out Sufurtia's first wife unknowingly carried Esclertic blood—something they only discovered after their son fell ill.
As previously mentioned, the disease was incurable. Although there were ongoing studies, progress was painfully slow. At the current pace, a cure wouldn't exist for at least 200 years—if they were lucky. Obviously, his son couldn't wait that long. In fact, he was already nearing his limit, and according to the top medical expert on the disease, the boy had no more than three years left to live. Those three years had nearly passed—only three weeks remained. His son was on the brink of death, and he could do nothing. No matter how much money he poured into research, no progress was made.
But not all hope was lost. Three years ago, he learned that someone had successfully cured the disease—three patients, in fact. The name of the doctor—or rather, the *doctor who achieved this*—was none other than Mikado. Yes, the famous Mikado, known for her beauty and, well… her impressive figure. People often valued a woman's looks more than her intelligence.
At any rate, Mikado had managed to cure a disease that had tormented countless worlds. For Sufurtia, that was a ray of hope. But when he tried to contact her, fate struck him down—Mikado had vanished. Upon investigating, he discovered that certain nobles had driven her into hiding. Enraged, he nearly declared war on them, but fortunately stopped before plunging the galaxy into chaos.
Despair nearly consumed him. His wives were emotionally shattered, crying daily, while his son lay bedridden, writhing in agony. The worst part was that Sufurtia could do nothing to ease his pain.
Still, he refused to give up. Using his immense fortune, he hired hundreds of people to search the galaxy for Mikado. The search lasted nearly three long years, and no one found even a trace—until his retired captain of the royal guard sent word. He claimed to have seen a woman strikingly similar to Mikado on the planet where he had settled: Earth. A primitive world inhabited by humans, a species zealously protected by King Deviluke. Recently, the planet had become a target of attention among nobles due to the human who became engaged to the princesses—but to Sufurtia, none of that mattered. The only thing that did was reaching Earth.
However, gaining entry to Earth wasn't simple. It wasn't just a matter of wealth but also connections—connections reaching directly to the king himself. Fortunately, Sufurtia had always been a model noble and a loyal servant of the crown, having completed many missions successfully. When he presented his plea, the king, moved by his story and past service, granted him permission to travel to Earth. Sufurtia was overjoyed and departed as soon as he received the signed authorization.
When he asked the king where Mikado was, the monarch admitted he didn't know exactly—but said his successor, Akira, might. Sufurtia quickly requested Akira's address, but out of respect for privacy, the king only provided the city and the locations Akira was known to frequent, based on Zastin's reports. Excited, Sufurtia began searching as soon as he arrived on Earth, and by nightfall, he finally found Akira walking with Kari. And that was his entire story.
"Akira… can't you do something for him?" Kari asked, visibly moved by Sufurtia's tale.
In fact, she had even shed a few tears.
"It's not that I can't help you, but…" I said.
"But what?" Sufurtia asked anxiously.
Kari also looked at me expectantly.
"Until tomorrow afternoon, there's nothing I can do—no matter how much you insist," I said.
The reason was simple. Mikado worked as the school nurse, and according to the manga, her lab was underground—right below the infirmary. But I wasn't sure if that was also her home. Honestly, I couldn't remember that part clearly, or if it was even mentioned. And even if it was, I couldn't rule out that in *this* timeline, Mikado might live elsewhere or have relocated her lab. So, I was completely tied down. To make matters worse, the school was closed. Even if I could sneak in easily, what would I do with Sufurtia? It was simply impossible right now.
"All right… I suppose I can wait until tomorrow," Sufurtia said.
Although he wanted to meet her immediately, Akira's sincerity convinced him that it truly wasn't possible, so he reluctantly decided to wait.
"Fine. Meet me at the Sainan Academy gate tomorrow afternoon. I can't give you an exact time since I'm not sure when I'll finish, but it'll definitely be in the afternoon," I said.
In truth, I *did* know when I'd be done—but I didn't want to share that detail. No matter how tragic his story was, it was still better not to trust him completely, just in case.
"I'll be there!" Sufurtia nodded firmly.
After that, Sufurtia said his goodbyes, and I finally escorted Kari back home. Night had fully fallen—it was time for her to return before her family worried.
"It's been really fun spending time with you today… thank you for everything," Kari said.
It had truly been one of the most exciting days of her life! She had felt new emotions, discovered the existence of life beyond Earth, and learned Akira's astonishing secret. How could she not find that thrilling?
"I'm glad you enjoyed it, but… don't tell anyone about this. Of course, you can talk with Mikan if you want, but no one else. Just imagine if ordinary humans found out about all this—it would be a disaster!" I said.
Well, that's what Momo and the others had warned me, anyway.
"I won't, don't worry," Kari said with a smile.
Just as she was about to leave, I felt something soft on my cheek. To my surprise, Kari had given me a quick peck before running off without looking back.
"This girl…" I muttered, stunned.
I was about to say something else when suddenly—
"Akira. What are you doing out here so late?" someone asked.
When I turned, it was Lala.
"I could ask you the same thing," I replied.
"Oh! I met a girl who said she just arrived from the countryside, so I was showing her around. But I guess I lost track of time, hehe," Lala said with a sheepish smile.
I simply nodded.
"Shall we head home? You can tell me all about it on the way," I said.
"Sure!" she replied brightly.
Then she took my arm, and together we began walking as Lala cheerfully recounted everything that had happened that day.
