Chapter 9 - CHAPTER EIGHTH -: Truth

"Stop right there."

[A firm voice cut through the air.

Nathaniel froze, turning his head].

(A uniformed security guard, unfamiliar and stern, stepped forward from the side booth).

"You're not allowed in. This property belongs to the bank now. It's under legal hold—corruption case."

(Nathaniel's eyes narrowed).

"What the hell are you talking about?" [His voice was calm, but it had weight. Danger].

[The guard didn't flinch].

"I'm just doing my job, sir. This estate is no longer owned by the Blackwood family."

• Nathaniel's blood ran cold.

• Something was wrong.

• Terribly wrong.

[He looked at Callen].

"Callen… what is this?"

(Callen's fingers moved quickly over the tablet, his expression shifting from confusion to panic).

"Sir… this isn't in any of the reports. I—I'll look into it immediately."

( Nathaniel clenched his jaw as he stared at the place he once called home).

[Callen was still searching when suddenly, his eyes widened].

(He looked toward Nathaniel).

"Sir, I've found something."

(Nathaniel immediately turned to him, his eyes cold and sharp).

"What is it, Callen? Speak."

Callen handed over his phone.

"It's an old news article. Look at this."

(Nathaniel took the phone and began reading. The headline screamed:-

- "Blackwood Industry Accused of Using Cheap Materials – Site Collapse Injures Worker"

[Callen explained], "Sir, the article claims that Blackwood Industries, once a highly respected real estate and construction firm, used low-quality material during a major project. The building collapsed after only the first floor was constructed. One worker got trapped and survived with a fracture. After that, the bank started demanding returns, and the shareholders withdrew their investments.

Eventually… the whole company shut down."

(Nathaniel stared at the screen, his jaw clenched tightly. His eyes, sharp and now burning with fury, lifted to meet Callen's).

"My father would never do that…" [he said in a dark, cold voice].

"Never."

[Then, without a pause, he ordered], "Callen, find my parents. I want to know where they are. Start now."

(Callen nodded and quickly began contacting search teams. Nathaniel stepped back into the car, fists clenched, thoughts racing).

Someone did this… Someone destroyed my family…

Two Weeks Later

(Time flew. Nathaniel did everything—digging through old files, speaking with ex-employees, even questioning his father's old friends).

But no one had any answers.

(Then, one evening, as he sat on the couch in his luxury hotel suite, his phone rang. He picked it up).

"Mr. Nathaniel, we've located your parents."

[The voice on the other end was calm but serious].

[Nathaniel instantly stood up, alert].

"Where? Do you have any details?"

"Yes, sir. We searched the outskirts with the photo you gave us. One of our team members found them… in a small hospital."

"Outskirts?" [Nathaniel repeated, confused and anxious].

"Yes, a remote hospital outside the city. I'm sending you the location now."

"Thank you. You'll get your payment." [Nathaniel hung up immediately].

(Without wasting a second, he called his secretar).

"Callen! The search team found my parents. Ready the car—I'm leaving now."

(His heart pounded as he rushed to get ready).

(Why were they in a hospital? Were they hurt? Hiding? What exactly happened that day…?)

•So many questions.

- And only his family could give him the answers.

- Answers that scared him.

- Answers he was finally ready to face.
